Najimi, Yurika, Melon, Yell, Misaki, and Budoku all go on a Hot springs trip. However, due to the Akikan's inability to touch hot water, a cold bath is prepared for them. So when Yurika grabs Misaki and and Najimi their Akikan's are unable to help them. Meanwhile Kakeru talks to a melon soda in the cold bath thinking that it is melon, so when she walks up behind him, he is shocked both mentally and physically by Melon's powers. After Kakeru gets out he is found and trapped by Hidehiko Otoya. Will he be able to escape?
The Akikan! OVA was alright. The characters were pretty annoying. I think that Akikan could have been a decent romance anime, but it is ruined by kochikaze and Otoya. Since the Akikan! OVA is a Hot Spring episode, the characters only wear a towel for the majority of the episode. If you aren't a fan of ecchi anime you can skip over this one.
