Ojisan and Marshmallow

Habahiro Hige works at a company with Iori Wakabayashi. There’s nothing Hige loves more than eating marshmallows. Wakabayashi is aware of this and approaches Hige, offering to share some of the bag she has. Because Hige won’t directly admit that he wants one, she eats them in front of him, waiting for him to be honest. Once she reaches the last one, she offers it to him again, and Hige finally says yes. However, there’s a catch: he has to take it from her mouth. Since they would have to kiss for him to eat it, he reluctantly lets it go.

In order to get into a relationship with Hige, Wakabayashi is willing to use marshmallows in a number of ways. However, will it be enough to get Hige to notice her, or will all of his attention remain focused on the marshmallows?

I really enjoyed Ojisan and Marshmallow. After watching the first episode, I felt like my love for romantic comedy anime had been reignited. I don’t typically enjoy office romances, so this one completely surprised me. It was absolutely hilarious, and Wakabayashi’s attempts to get Hige’s attention, along with Hige’s reactions to them, made me want to see them become a couple.

It is a wholesome romance for the most part, but there is a hot spring scene, a girl named Mioko Nijimori who shows cleavage, and a dream scene where Wakabayashi dreams that she is taking care of a baby. While I enjoyed it, I definitely wouldn’t suggest it to anyone unless I knew it was exactly what they were looking for. The fact that the characters are all adults, along with the humor, makes me feel like this is geared more toward adults than teens. 

Ro-Kyu-Bu!: Tomoka's Strawberry Sundae

Tomoka is hanging out with Subaru when she asks him to help her with her homework. He agrees to help her tomorrow. After working on a math assignment they decide to have lunch together. The come out of the room to find Tomoka's Mom hanging out in the kitchen. Subaru's Mom decides to make Hotpot for everyone, since they are all together. Tomoka and Subaru go shopping for ingredients where they run into Hina, Saki, Maho, and Airi.  The girls come over to eat hotpot along with a strawberry sundae that they made in secret while thinking about Tomoka.

Ro-Kyu-Bu!: Tomoka's Strawberry Sundae was a really fun episode. It felt more like a cooking anime more than a sports anime, which I thought was a fun twist. There is a panty shot along with a bath scene. There isn't any swearing though. If you enjoyed Ro-Kyu-Bu! Season 1 I would definitely suggest giving the OVA a try as well.

Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill Season 2

As Fel, Sui, and Muhkoda are traveling through the forest they defeat a hoard of spider monsters. After picking up the monsters, they stop to eat. Muhkoda decides to make Gyoza with the help of Sui. After it is done and they start eating, Muhkoda is approached by a Pixie Dragon. After trying his Gyoza, the Pixie Dragon becomes Muhkoda's Familiar. Now they go on a journey to see what kind of amazing dishes can be made using the monsters they take down.

Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill Season 2 was fun to watch. It has a good balance of action, cooking, and slice of life elements. It has a very similar feel to season 1. Everybody dresses modestly and there is no swearing. If you enjoyed Season 1 I would definitely suggest giving Season 2 a try.

Pass the Monster Meat, Milady!

Melphiera Marchalrayd loves eating monsters. However, eating monsters is looked down upon in the marchalrayd domain. Thanks to this she was given the nickname "The Voracious Villainess". So when it came time for her to look for a husband, nobody of any status would consider her as a potential wife. One day while she was at a party she was about to be attacked by a monster when she was saved by Aristide Galbraith who is known as "The Blood-Mad Duke". After talking, they are surprised to find out that they both share an interest in monsters. Aristide Galbraith then goes and asks Melphiera to be his betrothed. She gratefully accepts and heads to the Gabraith lands along with the Duke and the Galbraith knights.

Pass the Monster Meat, Milady! was really fun to watch. It kind of felt like a mix of 7th Time Loop and Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill. It has a nice mix of romance and cooking. There is no fan service or swearing. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Cooking with Valkyries Season 2

To celebrate the upcoming spring, Sakura makes Sakura Sake which takes two months to complete so it needs to be started in the winter to be ready by the time the Sakura flowers bloom. She then shares it with Kallen as they view the sakura petals fall.

Cooking with Valkyries Season 2 was okay. The food looked good, but there wasn't much of a story. If you want something like that I would suggest watching Campfire Cooking in Another World or Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant. The fun thing about Cooking with Valkyries is they leave you the recipe for the food they make at the end of each episode. The entire anime is clean both in language and visually. If you are a fan of cooking anime, it may be worth a try.

Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant!

After getting kicked out of the world's strongest adventuring party, Dennis decides to open his own restaurant. While he is buying supplies he finds a young girl who reminds him of how he was when he was a child. After seeing her, he decides to make her his new poster girl for his restaurant. Now that everything is set up Dennis has almost no money left, and the first customer who visits also has no money. Will the Adventurer's Restaurant be able to survive?

Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurnat was far better than I was expecting. I was expecting it to be similar to Restaurant to Another World, but it is so much better. It has the perfect mix of food and adventuring. It remains mostly clean, though there is a bath and shower scene. If you like anime like Campfire cooking in Another World, I would give Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant a try. 

Lycoris Recoil -Friends are thieves of time.-

While Takina and Chisato plan a trip to Hawaii, they get a call from Headquarters requesting their help to capture a criminal. However, they don't have to look because the next thing they know that very same criminal bursts into Cafe Lycoreco demanding they hand over all the store's money. With Chisato and Takina's Skills they capture the man with ease.

Lycoris Recoil -Friends are thieves of time.- is a series of shorts about Takina, Chisato, and the other main characters of Lycoris Recoil. It was pretty fun to watch. Though I enjoyed the series when it came out, so I knew that it would be fun. If you enjoyed Lycoris Recoil, I would suggest giving the shorts a try. If you haven't seen it and enjoy action anime, I would suggest giving the original series a try as well. 

Deaimon: Recipe for Happiness

After hearing that his dad has injured his back, Nagomu Irino moves back home with the intention of taking over the family business. However, after being gone for ten years, he isn't given the warmest welcome. Nagomu's dad tells him that he already has a successor to the Sweets Shop he runs. Nagomu finds out that it's a little girl named Itsuka Yukihira. Itsuka was dropped off at the sweets shop while Nagomu was gone by her father after her mother left the two of them. Itsuka has been working to become the next owner of Rokyuusho which all that hard work makes her see Nagomu as irresponsible despite being the owner's son. Will Itsuka and Nagomu ever get to be on good terms?

Deaimon: Recipe for Happiness was pretty slow. I watched it because I was hoping it would be a fun food anime like Sweetness & Lightning. However, it didn't meet my expectations. What was weird was that Nagomu's mom asks him to be like a father to her. This premise can be pulled off well like in Buddy Daddies and The Yakuza's Guid to Babysitting, but it didn't manage to do that either. The problem is Nagomu tries too hard to fit that roll, that he ends up messing it up. They feel more like a brother and Sister, rather than a father and daughter. The anime is mostly clean. There is a pool scene where you see the characters in swimsuits, but besides that everyone dresses modestly. If you like Slice of Life anime's about food, I would give this one a try. 

Sweetness & Lightning

Kouhei Inuzuka is a high school teacher who recently lost his wife. He does his best to take care of his daughter Tsumugi, but doesn't ever cook. While walking through the park they see a girl crying as she is eating. After learning that her mom didn't show up to eat with her she gives Kouhei and Tsumugi a business card for her mom's restaurant. One night when Tsumugi is hungry, Kouhei calls the number on the card and goes to the restaurant. They find Kotori Iida alone when they finally arrive. She tells them that her mom is currently out but she will do her best to make rice for them. After eating Kouhei promises to start cooking  and upon hearing that Kotori asks if they would mind cooking from time to time with her since her mom is almost always gone. Tsumugi and Kouhei agree to her request, and both do their best to learn to cook together.

Sweetness & Lightning was a fun anime about food. I always enjoy these types of anime. It kind of resembles Restaurant to Another World but without the fantasy characters and it takes place in a home instead of a restaurant. The anime has a wholesome feeling and is devoid of any fan service and swearing. If you enjoy anime's about cooking I would suggest giving Sweetness & Lightning a try.

Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!

Ever since he was little, Kazuhiro Kitase has been able to travel to a fantasy world when he is sleeping. Throughout the years he has become proficient at fighting and escaping. One day, when he is visiting a Dungeon with his friend Marie, they run into an Arkdragon. The Arkdragon attempts to burn them with her fire breath, but instead Marie wakes up in Kazuhiro's apartment in Tokyo. Now Kazuhiro wants to show her what this world without magic has to offer.

Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf! was a surprisingly enjoyable anime. I didn't really have any expectations going into it, but I think this is what I originally wanted out of Uncle From Another World. It kind of feels like Saving 80,000 Gold for my Retirement with the whole going back and forth between Earth and a fantasy world. There is a fair bit of fan service. When Marie and Wridra both wake up in Kazuhiro's apartment they appear without any clothes on. Also there are multiple hot springs and bath scenes. It is a cute romance anime though. I would suggest giving it a try if you don't mind the isekai and slice of life genres.

The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World

Keniichi Hamada is summoned one day to another world. All he's left with is the ability to purchase items from his world using the online store Shangri-la. Rather than lose hope because he's not overpowered, he decided to become a merchant and live his ideal slow life. He travels to a town called Dahlia where he sets up his first stall. It is there he meets a girl named Primulla who is the daughter of the head of the Mallow trading company. This starts off a wonderful business relationship between the two merchants.

Now that the summary is over I can finally say what I want. The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World made me uncomfortable as heck. I have no problems with harems, but it felt like every single female character was throwing themselves at this forty year old man. This of course involves the adolescent girls. Now age difference has never really bothered me when it comes to anime. However, a forty year old and ten year old couple is too much for me. I also didn't like that Primulla turns into a stalker halfway through and then Keniichi decides to go and marry her anyway. It was kind of like a rip off of Campfire Cooking in Another World. Also every single episode has a bath scene. So I would suggest staying away from this one.  

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You Season 2

Its been over a year since the last episode of The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You ended. As a way to mix things up and keep things interesting Kusuri created a drug that changed your personality. However, it backfired and instead had all the girlfriends swap bodies with each other. While it wasn't intentional to swap bodies it had the same effect that the girlfriends were hoping for. As Rentaro goes to get lunch he runs into a middle schooler who had forgotten their wallet. So he decided to split his lunch with her. As he looks into her eyes he realizes that she is another one of his soulmates.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You Season 2 was super fun to watch. probably my favorite episode was where everyone goes to karaoke together. Something that became common was that Karane and Hakari became a lot closer this season, which I really liked. Though once episode twelve came out I think that Kusuri became my favorite girlfriend. There is some fan service throughout the season like a bath scene as well as Hahari and Hakari's suggestive language. If you try to avoid things with fan service you can skip this one. However, I think that this is my favorite Harem anime of all time. The main character isn't dense to the girlfriends feelings and all the girlfriends are likeable characters in my opinion. I would definitely suggest giving it a try. 

Wakakozake

Wakako Murasaki's favorite thing to do after a long day at work is to go to different restaurants and try their food. She doesn't eat everything all at once, but tries to experience each flavor that goes into the food, along with a tasty drink.

Wakakozake is pretty similar to Love is Like a Cocktail in the sense that both revolve around a character enjoying drinking after a long day at work. But Where the two differ is Wakakozake focuses more on the meal she is eating rather than the drink. It was pretty fun to watch. While it is two minutes like Teekyuu the character speaks at a slow pace which was kind of a nice change. If you like short anime's I would suggest giving Wakakozake a try.

OniAi Specials

Akiko, Anastasia, Arashi, and Ginbei all decide to plant rice. However, Anastasia has never planted rice and asks how to do it. Arashi tells her to just dig a hole and put it in, then surround it with water. After they are done planting the rice akiko mentions that her hips hurt from how many times she bent over. Arashi offers to give her a massage, which Akiko gratefully accepts. After that Ginbei goes and buys a special mont blanc but is only able to get one. When Arashi walks in and sees she blackmails ginbei by saying she'll only keep her mouth shut if Ginbei can name ten different dishes with nuts in them.

The Oniai special episodes are hard to describe. It has two different styles of animation. One looks like one of those cheap plays where the characters are drawings taped to popsicle sticks, while the other is the standard animation you see in most new animes. There is quite a bit of fan service, but that isn't all that surprising since very few OVA's and Special episodes go without it. Anyway, each episode is only three minutes long so you can finish it pretty fast. If it sounds interesting or you watched the main series and liked it, feel free to give it a try.

Otaku Elf

In Tsukushima, Chuo City, Tokyo is where Takamimi Shrine is. It has been there for over 400 years, and at the head resides an elf who wants to do nothing else besides reading manga, watching anime, playing video games, and building plastic figures. Her Miko, Koito Koganai, is just starting as she finally reached the age of 16. Koito has studied and resolved to fulfill her role perfectly. However, performing rituals with an elf who refuses to go outside makes her job a little bit harder. Luckily, Koito has the patience and discipline to find a way so that everything can work out.

Otaku Elf was a good way to pass the time. It wasn't super interesting, but it was relaxing and easy to watch a few episodes at a time. The whole anime had both clean language and the characters all dressed modestly. Something interesting is it talks a decent amount about japanese history, which I thought was pretty cool. I'm not sure how true it is though. If you like slice of life anime and elf's you can give it a try.

Cooking with Valkyries

Mei, Bronya, Kiana, Himeko, Theresa, and Hua all take turns cooking different meals for each other. While not everybody's tastes match one another, everybody can agree that cooking has a special place in their hearts. Kiana is reminded of days she spent with her father and replicates a dish they made together when she was younger. Theresa after hearing that Kiana missed class learns to make a dish suited to her taste to make her feel better. While cooking has a personal meaning it can also be a way to draw closer to others. Watch as the different characters create unique dishes as a sign of their friendship

Cooking with Valkyries was a pretty interesting show. What I thought was cool about this is not only does it show the characters making dishes, but it also provides you with the recipe for the dish they made. While I probably aren't many things I would make on here there are a few things i would like to try. the fruit punch, watermelon pizza, and pizza toast all looked simple to make and looked like it would taste good. Both the language and the visuals are clean in this short series. If you like cooking animes I would give this one a try.

Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence

Saint Cecilia acts and communicates perfectly to everyone in the village who visits the church. However, her true self comes out when her and Pastor Lawrence are alone. She lazes around and relies on him to do the housework. But as she spends more time outside she begins to let the act drop and just be herself. The fact that she loves the Pastor is clear for anyone to see. Both Cecilia and Lawrence are happy with the way their life is. Though deep down Cecilia wants more from their relationship. So, when a friend of Lawrence's named Abel shows up, Cecilia opens up to him about her feelings for Lawrence, and Abel decides to try and get Cecilia & Lawrence to do things that will make them become closer.

Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence is another romance where the Main Character is as dense as a brick. However, it didn't bother me because even though Lawrence is unaware of Cecilia's romantic feelings for him, he still treats her right. Oftentimes, the dense main character will either ignore the girl who likes him or become mean at times. So the dynamic between these two was very refreshing for me. While I do wish it had a better ending, the ending was still good. The anime stays wholesome for the most part. There is a bath scene but it doesn't distract you from the story. The Language also remains clean which I really enjoyed. I think if you like wholesome romance anime you should give this one a try.

Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits-

Aoi Tsubaki has always been able to see Ayakashi. After her Mother left her she was raised by her grandpa Shiro Tsubaki. Shiro had the power to travel to the hidden realm where the Ayakashi live. It is there that he became well known and accrued massive debt. To settle the matter he offered up his granddaughter Aoi to be the wife of an Ayakashi known as the Ogre God. Once Aoi had grown up the Ogre God came for her and brought her to the hidden realm. Refusing to marry him, Aoi claimed that she could find another way to pay off her grandfather's debt. While nobody seemed willing to accept her at first the nine tailed fox Ginji claimed that there was a place nearby where no matter what kind of business was there it always seemed to fail. It was then that Aoi decided to turn it into her own restaurant.

I didn't have too high of expectations when I started to watch Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits-, however, the more I watched the more I enjoyed it. While it is another restaurant anime, it feels different from others. While it takes place in another world, it doesn't follow the common tropes you see in fantasy anime. There are no humans in this world nor are there the magical races you typically see in fantasy such as dwarves & elves. All of the beings being Ayakashi give Kakuriyo a unique feel that made me want to see what will happen next. While there is a hot springs and multiple bath scenes, the majority of it stays clean. If you are looking for a unique supernatural anime I would give this one a try.

Seton Academy: Join the Pack!

On Jin's first day at Seton Academy he runs into a wolf named Ranka. While Ranka has spent most of her time alone she feels like she can trust Jin and asks him to join her pack. The only thing is Jin hates all animals. He is very unsatisfied with his situation until he meets Hitomi Hino the only other human at Seton Academy. Though talking with her becomes difficult because Ranka wants to spend all her time with Jin and is willing to fight others if it can mean the two of them can stick together. After Jin sees Ranka mistreated by a zebra he saves her and agrees to be part of her pack. Together Hitomi, Jin and Ranka create the cooking club where different species gather and become friends.

Seton Academy was a pretty interesting anime. It's definitely different from your typical high school romance anime. Something that was cool about Seton Academy is the fun facts about different animals you learn. The downside for some is that there are a lot of fan service scenes. There's a pool scene, a bath scene, hot springs scenes, as well as the student council president who throws off her clothes because she is a naked mole rat. If you want to see a unique anime where humans and animals both attend school, give it a try.

Ramen Akaneko

After leaving her previous job Tamako Yahsiro hears from her aunt that there is a ramen place looking for help. When she goes in for the interview she is asked if she is a cat person. When Tamako responds that she is more of a dog person she is hired on the spot. The first thing she has to do is brush all the cats so that their fur doesn't get into the ramen. Next she works with a tiger named Krishna to create the noodles necessary for the day. While things mainly stay peaceful, troublesome people do come. Will Tamako be able to handle this new work environment?

I really enjoyed Ramen Akaneko. It was this seasons comfort anime for me. Every time I watched an episode it just made me feel really relaxed. All of the characters are really kind and you can feel the kind of atmosphere that the restaurant would have if you were actually there. This is the first time I have watched a food anime and wished I could be there in person. The anime has both clean language and the characters all wear modest clothing. If you like food anime's I would definitely give this one a try.
