For a long time the world has been separated into a land of humans and a land of beasts. In order to stop the wars between the two a deal was made where the humans would offer up sacrifices in order to keep the beasts away. Sariphi was supposed to be the 99th sacrifice, but instead of being killed the beast king decided to make Sari his wife. Unfortunately this caused backlash from many of the beasts who still feared the humans. So in order to make the citizens of the beast kingdom slowly accept her, Sariphi agrees to complete tasks that would show her ability as queen, like taming a holy beast and hosting a ball for nobility. Watch as Sariphi gains trust as does what she believes to be right.
Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts starts out a lot like beauty and the beast. However, after the first episode it becomes less of a romance between the two and gains a strong message of self acceptance as well as acceptance of others despite appearances or history. It only swears about three times. The anime remained completely clean visually which gives it a thumbs up in my book. If you like fantasy anime that has more of a focus on world building I would suggest giving this one a try. It kind of reminded me of How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom.
