After the battle at Moscow, the Empire's Strategic Headquarters assigns Tanya a combat team with the code name Salamander. However, when they enter battle, it quickly becomes apparent that these new soldiers are nowhere near as competent as the 203rd Mage Battalion that Tanya trained herself. They lack an understanding of the value of resources and tend to follow the rules written in books rather than adapt to the situation at hand. After the fighting ends, Viktoriya Ivanovna Serebryakov interrogates those they believed to be communists. However, they discover that the Imperial Army has actually been fighting nationalists. As a result, the army changes its tactics and attempts to form alliances with various countries, hoping to achieve peace through diplomacy. Unfortunately, this becomes increasingly difficult as more lives are lost. Will Tanya find a way to end the war and achieve the peace she's always wanted?
Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 was good. This is one of those series where you finish the first season and can't imagine what could possibly happen next. However, the events in Season 2 gradually become somewhat predictable. Even so, it's a unique isekai unlike any other. It presents a world where magic is used for warfare, but its applications are limited to things like flight, barriers, and enhancing the power of weapons. Because magic has such a limited variety of uses, battles feel much more grounded, especially with the inclusion of conventional weapons like guns and tanks. This is a refreshing change from the way magic is typically used in generic isekai anime. Everyone dresses modestly, but there is considerably more swearing than in your typical anime. If you enjoy anime with plenty of action and fighting, I would recommend giving this series a watch.
