Half-Broken Music Box

One day, while Keiichiro is in a dump, he finds an abandoned helper robot. He believes she's broken and takes her to a repair shop, but they tell him that her model is too old and that the parts are no longer available. Keiichiro takes her home and leaves her in the bathroom before going to bed. When he wakes up, he finds the robot downstairs making him breakfast. However, she has no memory of who she is or what her life was like before she woke up that morning.

When she asks what her name is, Keiichiro names her Flower. He takes Flower around town and teaches her about money so she can do the shopping. After finding out that she has a terrible memory, he buys her a notebook where she can write down what happens during her day so she won't forget. They then go on to experience things that make every day fun for Flower. However, she notices that Keiichiro doesn't smile at all. Is there a way to bring back the happiness that she has seen in the old photos around the house?

Half-Broken Music Box was interesting. It reminded me a little bit of Planetarian, though I think the Planetarian anime left more of an impact on me. Half-Broken Music Box is a good slice-of-life anime. Judging from the art and descriptions I found online, I went into it thinking it was supposed to be an emotional anime like Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day. While it didn't make me sad, I found it relaxing to watch.

The characters all dress modestly, though you do get a glimpse of a pornographic magazine when Flower is cleaning Keiichiro's bedroom. Besides that, it's a pretty wholesome anime. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something short and relaxing.

A Sign of Affection

One day, while Yuki is riding the bus, a man approaches her and asks for directions. However, since she is deaf, she is unable to communicate with him. She is saved by a young man named Itsuomi. She remembers that he is part of the same club her friend Rin attends. So, after arriving at their college campus, she talks to Rin about him, and Rin takes Yuki to the bar where Itsuomi works. It's there that Yuki asks for Itsuomi's phone number. After receiving it, the two start to communicate more by texting. Itsuomi then tells her that he would like to learn sign language. This makes Yuki super happy, and she offers to teach him herself. Will Yuki and Itsuomi stay friends, or will their relationship turn into something more?

A Sign of Affection was pretty good. While the sign language being incorporated into the anime was different from any romance anime I've seen before, it didn't feel super exciting to watch. This definitely feels like an anime you watch between shows you really like. It has a really relaxing feel to it, which is good. Even though it felt pretty slow to me, I'm sure it can be super entertaining if that's what you're in the mood for. The anime stays pretty wholesome for the most part. There is a shower scene, but all you see is Yuki's head and shoulders. If you enjoy romance anime with older characters, I would suggest giving it a try.

Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk

It's Botan Kamiina's first year at college. As she goes to meet the girls living in the same dorm as her, she notices that the resident assistant is missing. So, she tells Kanade Gujo, Yaeka Kitamori, and Akane Yusa that she is going to find her. Botan goes to a small area where a lot of stalls are set up. She finds Ibuki Tonami, the RA for the dorm, sitting on a bench and drinking alcohol. Ibuki never lets anyone see her drinking, but when Botan says that she'd like to give the drink a try, Ibuki hands her the cup. After Botan tries the drink, Ibuki learns that Botan and she aren't so different, and maybe it would be nice to drink together again.

Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk was an interesting anime. One of the cool things about this anime is that the art style changes in every episode. I read that the studio had different teams of artists work on each episode, which is why it came out the way it did. The scenery looks absolutely amazing throughout the show. It kind of gave me Encouragement of Climb vibes. There are some yuri aspects to the show, which made it hard to watch at times, but they didn't get overly close, which made it seem more like a normal slice-of-life anime. There are hot spring scenes throughout it, but they didn't feel particularly lewd. The story isn't so fascinating that I felt like I could binge it, but it has a nice, relaxing feel to it. I would say this is a good anime to watch when you are taking a break from anime that are super action-oriented. While this wasn't my favorite, I still think that it's worth watching.

Kaya-chan Isn't Scary

Kaya Sato attends a kindergarten where mysterious events seem to happen. Recently, kids have been falling off the swings and getting hurt. The teachers assume it's because the kids are careless, but Kaya knows the truth. Invisible monsters haunt the playground and wait to push kids off the swing set. Kaya tries to prevent it from happening, but she is labeled a problem child for blocking off the swings. As she is pulled away by a teacher, a boy hops on the swing and is pushed over and over until he is so high that falling would inevitably result in serious injury. Luckily, Kaya steps in and defeats the ghosts with one punch. This is because Kaya is the world's strongest psychic. However, the ghosts don't just appear on the playground—they are appearing all over the city. Will Kaya be able to save those close to her, or will the fear of the unknown drive her away?

Kaya-chan Isn’t Scary was great. It kind of reminded me of Mieruko-chan as well as My Clueless First Friend. While I don’t typically watch horror anime, the art in the picture, as well as the title, made me want to give it a try. The anime has a good balance between horror and slice of life. The horror aspect isn’t overwhelming, and the story properly explains why things are happening while still maintaining a relaxing vibe throughout the anime. There aren’t any lewd scenes or swearing. If you don’t mind the horror genre, I would suggest giving it a try.

Squid Girl OVA

one of the Three Stooges breaks their nintendo console after accidentally dropping it on the floor. So they decide to make a new console that won't break no matter how hard you throw it, along with games to play on it. They give their inventions to Squid Girl and Eiko to try out. Eiko gets Jealous of Chizuru and Squid Girl since Ayumi is able to talk to them easily. When Ayumi says the reason she can talk to them so easily is because they're not human, Chizuru tries everything in her power to be seen as a normal girl. Squid Girl plays hide and seek inside the house in hopes of surprising Eiko, Chizuru, and Takeru with her hiding skills. However, she is found by Takeru early on, who then joins in on her game of hide and seek. After seeing their shoes are still in the house Chizuru catches on to Squid Girl's plans, and is able to lure her out of hiding with food.

Squid Girl OVA was pretty fun to watch. Usually OVA's feel pretty removed from the main series, but these just felt like additional content to the story. Like the rest of the series most people are dressed in swimsuits since the setting is a restaurant at the beach. While usually it doesn't feel lewd because of the setting, the end of the third episode does feel a bit more fan service heavy than usual, even if it's only for a few minutes. If you enjoyed the rest of the show I would definitely suggest giving it a try as it keeps the same vibe as the main series.

Squid Girl Season 2

Squid girl is back at the Lemon. Squid Girl is working like usual when Eiko brings up that she hasn't accomplished anything in her quest to conquer humanity. This fires her up even more to do everything she can to conquer the surface world. Meanwhile Sanae sees Squid Girl hanging out with Kiyomi and believes that they are both rivals fighting for squid girls attention. One day Squid Girl is helping clean up the beach when she sees Goro taking jellyfish out of the ocean. She challenges him to see who can gather the most jellyfish. Chizuru overhears and turns it into a competition involving everyone at the beach with real prizes for the winners of the competition.

Squid Girl Season 2 was just as good as season 1. Since the entire anime takes place on the beach, there are characters in swimsuits in every episode. This might be considered as a lewd scene to some, but it seems unavoidable given the setting. If you enjoyed Season 1, I would definitely suggest giving Season 2 a try as well.

My Hero Academia: I am a hero too

Eri goes to see Deku to congratulate him on his comeback as a hero, however, he isn't in the Teacher's Office at U.A. High. She is met by Eraser Head, Present Mic, and All Might. After letting her know that Deku has gone home, they turn on the TV which plays a news channel talking about how Deku has risen in the Hero Rankings and how his presence continues to be a positive influence on others. Before she leaves, the teachers mention that Deku will be at Eri's debut concert and that she can congratulate him then. The episode then shows the concert that Eri is performing with her band and the citizens and Heroes who are watching and listening.

My Hero Academia: I am a hero too was great. Even though this special was only 6 minutes long, it still was able to bring tears to my eyes as Eri sang. My Hero Academia is one of a few anime that holds a special place in my heart. I didn't mention this in my previous reviews, but when I finished My Hero Academia Season 8 I had the thought that I will never be able to view other anime the same way again. This special reminded me of how much My Hero Academia has impacted me the last two months. If you have finished all 8 seasons along with the My Hero Academia: More episode, I would definitely suggest giving this a try as well.

Kusunoki's Garden of Gods

Minato Kusonoki has grown up surrounded by Yokai at the inn his parents run. Once his grandpa and grandma died he inherited their home which had previously been filled with Miasma from Evil spirits. However, as he walked into the house, his presence cleansed the evil and turned it into a place where gods can reside. His first resident is Yamagami who is the god of the mountain near Minato's house. Pretty soon more and more gods come to live in the garden, and with each new one Minato starts to see his life change in new ways.

Kusunoki's Garden of Gods was really good. It kind of reminded me of Campfire cooking in another world. The dynamic between Minato and Yamagami feels similar to Fel and Tsuyoshi Mukouda. Though I prefer these two because it feels like Minato complains a lot less than Mukouda. You also learn about a wide variety of desserts which is fun. My favorite part of the series is how they involved onmyoji and had Minato use his power to help them exorcise the evil spirits throughout the town. While there is a hot spring scene, it mainly involves animals so I wouldn't consider at as a lewd scene. If this sounds interesting to you, I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

My Hero Academia UA BATTLE HEROES

During winter break, The students of class 1-A are all stuck inside the dorms due to precautions to keep them safe from The League of Villains. Not knowing what to do, They start talking about a festival that had been hosted by U.A. High School in the past. Just then Mirio Togata comes in with a card game for them to play created by the support course students. The cards all have the students of class 1-A on them along with special cards that have professional heroes on them. When put on a special board, holograms show up and the two players can simulate a battle between the characters on their cards as if it was happening in real life.

My Hero Academia UA BATTLE HEROES was super fun to watch. I had actually seen an Instagram reel of this episode beforehand, but the dialogue and series of events was not accurate to what actually happened in the real episode, likely because it had been voiced over to be less serious and more funny. There are no lewd scenes. I think this is probably my favorite OVA yet. It takes place right after the end of season 6. I would definitely suggest giving it a try if you like the main series.

Farming Life in Another World Season 2

Hiraku Machio and the residents of The Great Tree Village are back. This time they have an influx of new residents thanks to the Dragon King Dryme and the Demon Lord Galgardo. Beezel one of the Demon King's four generals brings a group of Centaurs to the village, while Dryme brings a group of Minotaurs to the village. Needless to say both races are much taller than Hiraku and the residents had anticipated making the houses they build useless. Not long After, The Lamia bring a group of wood spirits to Great Tree Village, but they refuse to live indoors and just want to live where there's fertile soil to stand on. In order to keep up with all the paperwork, Flowrem brings others from the Demon Lord's Domain to work in the administrative office. Will Hiraku be able to provide everyone with a satisfying life?

Farming Life in Another World Season 2 was great. It felt kind of like a mix of Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord, I'm a Noble on the Brink of Ruin, So I Might as Well Try mastering Magic, and I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 years, and Maxed Out My Level. It does have bath scenes, hot spring scenes, and a lake scene where you see the characters with swimsuits. There isn't any swearing though. If you enjoy slice of life anime that take place in a fantasy world, I would definitely suggest giving Farming Life in Another World a try.

Bananya: At-Home Party

A Mom, Dad, and child all get transported to another world and are reincarnated as Bananya. One of the Bananya's is sad because they have lost the sparkly beads that sit atop their favorite teddy bear's bow. So the various Bananya go on a journey to find the young Bananya's lost beads. They meet many bananya that help them along the way. Watch as they journey both land and sea to recover what's lost.

Bananya: At-Home Party is a special episode celebrating the 10th anniversary of Bananya's release. honestly it was super fun to see. I was surprised to see a bananya actually talking, since in the previous three seasons all they said was "Nya". The language was clean, and there were no lewd scenes. While I wouldn't call this a masterpiece, it is oddly relaxing. If you enjoyed the first three seasons of Bananya, I would definitely suggest giving this special episode a try.

AIURA

Ayuko Uehara is just about to relax at a shop, when two girls knock her ice cream cone out of her hand. Kanaka Amaya gives Ayuko a Taiyaki to replace her ice cream while Saki Iwasawa scolds Kanaka for treating an elementary schooler like that. Little did they know that the very next day they would all be attending the same high school. After getting assigned a locker that is too high to reach Saki and Kanaka help her out. They become fast friends and do everything together. It looks like High school will be a whole new adventure for each of them.

AIURA is another one of those anime with four minute episodes. There isn't a whole lot of story, because the series is so short, but I did find myself laughing a few times. If you are looking for something to pass the time, Aiura is a great choice. However, if you want an anime with a cohesive story and not just little bits of comedy I would try something else. The anime doesn't have any lewd scenes, and the language is kept clean as well.

An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess

Cecil Glo Alphasta is a prince who has grown tired of the world due to his high intelligence, which helps him understand anything after hearing it once. One day he meets his Fiancée, Bertia Ibil Noches who claims that she's a villainess that is destined to try and tear apart his future love, the heroine. Since Cecil doesn't understand a word she's saying, he begins to become amused with what Bertia says and does.  Due to this he spends time with her going on various dates where he listens to what she says, and acts so that the future events where tragedy strikes cease to be a problem. But will Cecil have the power to change Bertia's mindset that the game's story is absolute?

An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess was really good. I typically enjoy the reincarnated as a villainess trope, but I dropped this one while it was airing. After giving it another try once it finished, the story kept me entertained the whole time. I feel like I can relate to Cecil to some degree, which made me want to see him find happiness even more. Bertia and Cecil are pretty funny. The anime is wholesome and there isn't any swearing. If you enjoy the reincarnated as a villainess trope, I would definitely suggest giving it a try.

The Klutzy Class Monitor and the Girl with the Short Skirt

Every morning, Poem Kohinata is stopped by the hall monitor Togo Sakuradaimon for having her skirt too short. Though after getting fed up with his attitude, she punches him in the stomach to avoid the situation. They later meet after school when they both have supplementary lessons. After working together to finish their assignments, Togo walks Poem home and they become friends before the day is over. The next day Togo runs into Poem and her friends Akina and Rui as they are having coffee on their way home from school. While he initially intended to stop them, Rui and Akina invite him to join them, making Togo temporarily forget why he was there. Slowly, Togo gets to be better friends with Poem, Akina, and Rui, while still doing his best as the school's hall monitor.

The Klutzy Class Monitor and the Girl with the Short Skirt was one of the best romance anime this season in my opinion. I really enjoyed the variety of characters, especially Akina and her twisted romance with the health representative Yu Izabuchi. The anime remains mostly clean, though there are a few episodes that take place at the beach, so you see the girls in swimsuits. There is a tiny bit of swearing here and there as well. If you enjoy high school romance anime, I would definitely suggest giving this one a try.

Umayuru: Pretty Gray

Tamamo Cross and Oguri Cap create a takoyaki stand at the school festival. However, due to Oguri's voracious appetite all of the sauce is used up in the taste testing stage. Thanks to Gold Ship and Mejiro McQueen sharing their yakisoba ingredients, the four are able to come up with a unique dish together.

Umayuru: Pretty Gray was fun to watch. While I wish Tomomo Cross and Oguri played a bigger part, I enjoyed learning about Umamusume that weren't part of the Cinderella Gray anime. If you enjoyed Umamusume: Cinderella Gray I would definitely suggest giving this a try. However, it's not directly connected to Cinderella Gray, so even if you haven't watched the anime, you could still enjoy it.

Let's Make a Mug Too Season 2

After the competition, Himeno is at a loss of what to make next. One day she hears a story about how her mom traveled to cafe's all over Tajima for inspiration to build the perfect coffee cup. After her dad and the other customers finish telling the story, her dad makes room on the shelf where her mom's pieces are displayed and he tells her that this is where Himeno Toyokawa's masterpiece can be displayed. He hoped that that would give her a push to create something again, but all it did was put unnecessary pressure on her to create something great. Will Himeno find what she's looking for?

Let's Make a Mug Too Season 2 was fun. This season followed a similar pattern to season 1. It was a lot of slice of life scenes mixed with a bunch of different ceramics projects. I'm happy to note that Himeno did make a mug this season. The entire season was clean. There wasn't any swearing or lewd scenes. If you enjoyed Season 1 I would definitely suggest giving Season 2 a try.

Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun

Chiyo Sakura has a crush on Nozaki-kun. After finally getting the courage to ask him out she instead says that she's always been a fan of his. In response Nozaki gives her his autograph. When she tries to clear up the misunderstanding by saying that she wants to always be with him, he asks her to help him with the manga he's creating. From then on they spend their days doing romantic activities to better understand what makes a Shojo manga good.

Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun made me laugh more times than I can count. I love how even though their work relationship ended up due to a misunderstanding, they still get to spend time together because they both share a passion for art. While Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun isn't the type of romance that makes your heart flutter, the humor it has makes it well worth the watch. The anime has no lewd scenes, and there isn't any swearing either. I would definitely suggest giving it a try.

Let's Make a Mug Too

After her father's business failed in Tokyo, Himeno Toyokawa and her dad moved back to Gifu where her mother and father grew up. On her first day of high school Himeno introduces herself by pulling out cups that are used in her family's restaurant and advertises her father's new business. After class a fellow classmate pulls Himeno aside and takes her all the way to the pottery club. Mika Kukari recognized the creator of the cups and mugs and believed that Himeno was a collector of pottery. The pieces were made by Himeno Tokikawa, who is famous in the world of pottery, and also happens to be Himeno's mother. Watch as Himeno grows a love for pottery and learns to use it to put a smile on people's faces.

Let's Make a Mug Too was a fun little anime. Though the fact that they didn't actually make a mug is both hilarious and disappointing to me. However, there still is a chance in season 2. I will say that it kind of gave me the same vibes as a sports anime. The constant training to improve. the competition, and the slice of life scenes in between gave it a similar feel to Scorching Ping Pong Girls and Ro-Kyu-Bu. It also has a relaxing feel which kind of reminded me of Encouragement of Climb as well. There is an episode where the pottery club goes to the river in their swimsuits, but besides that it remains completely wholesome. I would definitely suggest giving it a try, if you are looking for a relaxing anime.

Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit (Season 4)

Aoi, Hinata, Kaede, Kokona, and Honaka are back for another season. This time Aoi is determined to reach the summit of Mount Fuji. But Before she can start her climb, she needs to deal with her end of semester exams. One day while she is minding her own business at school, Aoi is approached by the head of the mountaineering club. She takes Aoi to the clubroom where they have tons of mountain climbing equipment. However, While Aoi isn't interested in joining the club, she is interested in the training they do to get stronger.  Will Aoi be able to reach the top of mount Fuji, or will she be stopped by Altitude sickness again?

Encouragement of Climb Season 4 was really good. Though I am a bit disappointed that the first four episodes were a comprehensive review of the first three seasons. The reason I was disappointed was because I had already watched the first three seasons before starting the fourth. However, seeing as Season 4 is the only season available on Hidive, I would say it's a good thing for those who are watching it for the first time. Encouragement of Climb Season 4 had the same relaxing feel as the other seasons. While there is a beach episode you don't see the characters in swimsuits, so everyone stays modest. For those who do watch the first three seasons before watching the fourth, I would still suggest watching the first four episodes, because the scenes at the beginning are new clips that weren't in the previous seasons. Encouragement of Climb is a great anime, I would definitely recommend it.

Pole Princess!! Movie

After successfully saving the planetarium with their pole dancing, Hinano, Mio, Lilia, and Subaru set their sights on a nationwide pole dancing competition next. While they are practicing to prepare for it, they learn that some of the most talented pole dancers around will also be competing. Their teacher Azumi-sensei has high expectations for them. Azumi says that she won't be satisfied unless the finish the qualifiers in first place. Does Galaxy Princess have what it takes?

Pole Princess!! Movie was really fun to watch. It was kind of reminescent of D4DJ First Mix. The art style along with the music reminded me of it. I also think that it's fascinating because Pole dancing isn't what you would expect from a sports anime. The outfits worn during the performance along with the visual effects on stage during the songs made it really entertaining for me as well.  There are no lewd scenes, and the language is clean as well. I would highly recommend watching it.

Half-Broken Music Box

One day, while Keiichiro is in a dump, he finds an abandoned helper robot. He believes she's broken and takes her to a repair shop, but ...
