Half-Broken Music Box

One day, while Keiichiro is in a dump, he finds an abandoned helper robot. He believes she's broken and takes her to a repair shop, but they tell him that her model is too old and that the parts are no longer available. Keiichiro takes her home and leaves her in the bathroom before going to bed. When he wakes up, he finds the robot downstairs making him breakfast. However, she has no memory of who she is or what her life was like before she woke up that morning.

When she asks what her name is, Keiichiro names her Flower. He takes Flower around town and teaches her about money so she can do the shopping. After finding out that she has a terrible memory, he buys her a notebook where she can write down what happens during her day so she won't forget. They then go on to experience things that make every day fun for Flower. However, she notices that Keiichiro doesn't smile at all. Is there a way to bring back the happiness that she has seen in the old photos around the house?

Half-Broken Music Box was interesting. It reminded me a little bit of Planetarian, though I think the Planetarian anime left more of an impact on me. Half-Broken Music Box is a good slice-of-life anime. Judging from the art and descriptions I found online, I went into it thinking it was supposed to be an emotional anime like Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day. While it didn't make me sad, I found it relaxing to watch.

The characters all dress modestly, though you do get a glimpse of a pornographic magazine when Flower is cleaning Keiichiro's bedroom. Besides that, it's a pretty wholesome anime. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something short and relaxing.

Cosmic Princess Kaguya!

Iroha Sakayori is the perfect honor student. She excels at everything she puts her mind to. However, in order to pay for her house and save money for college, she works extremely hard, leaving her with hardly any time to focus on her hobbies. Her few sources of enjoyment are playing virtual reality games and listening to the virtual idol Yachiyo sing.

One day, after finishing work, Iroha sees a shooting star. She makes a wish for more money and then heads home. When she arrives on the street where her house is located, she sees a streetlamp glowing. As she approaches it, two bamboo handles appear, and when it opens, Iroha sees a baby. Afraid of leaving it on the street, she takes it home with her.

Over the course of a weekend, the baby, Kaguya, grows into a teenager. Iroha introduces Kaguya to the world of VR, and they play her favorite game, Tsukiyome. After seeing the virtual idol Yachiyo, Kaguya decides to become a streamer herself. She becomes popular by singing the songs that Iroha writes. However, her newfound popularity may be just a fleeting dream. Not only does she draw the eyes of many fans, but also those who seek to take away the freedom that Kaguya longs to have. Will Iroha have the power to save her new friend?

Cosmic Princess Kaguya was a complete surprise to me. I had read a brief summary of the story of the bamboo cutter a day or two ago, so I understood the story that inspired the movie. I also knew that it took place in the virtual world and included music from posts and summaries I had read online prior to watching it. However, the movie gives the old story a modern take in a way that I wouldn't have predicted. It feels kind of like Seven Senses of the Reunion and Shangri-La Frontier. However, that's only in terms of the fighting style and digital-world aspect. The story is completely different from those two anime in every way.

After an hour and twenty minutes of watching, I was convinced the movie was over based on the events that had played out. But I paused it, only to find out that there was still over an hour left of the movie. It was really good, but it was a bit longer than I was expecting.The entire thing was wholesome. There were no lewd scenes or swearing. I would definitely suggest giving it a try if you enjoy music anime and virtual reality anime.

My Hero Academia: I am a hero too

Eri goes to see Deku to congratulate him on his comeback as a hero, however, he isn't in the Teacher's Office at U.A. High. She is met by Eraser Head, Present Mic, and All Might. After letting her know that Deku has gone home, they turn on the TV which plays a news channel talking about how Deku has risen in the Hero Rankings and how his presence continues to be a positive influence on others. Before she leaves, the teachers mention that Deku will be at Eri's debut concert and that she can congratulate him then. The episode then shows the concert that Eri is performing with her band and the citizens and Heroes who are watching and listening.

My Hero Academia: I am a hero too was great. Even though this special was only 6 minutes long, it still was able to bring tears to my eyes as Eri sang. My Hero Academia is one of a few anime that holds a special place in my heart. I didn't mention this in my previous reviews, but when I finished My Hero Academia Season 8 I had the thought that I will never be able to view other anime the same way again. This special reminded me of how much My Hero Academia has impacted me the last two months. If you have finished all 8 seasons along with the My Hero Academia: More episode, I would definitely suggest giving this a try as well.  

Pole Princess!! Movie

After successfully saving the planetarium with their pole dancing, Hinano, Mio, Lilia, and Subaru set their sights on a nationwide pole dancing competition next. While they are practicing to prepare for it, they learn that some of the most talented pole dancers around will also be competing. Their teacher Azumi-sensei has high expectations for them. Azumi says that she won't be satisfied unless the finish the qualifiers in first place. Does Galaxy Princess have what it takes?

Pole Princess!! Movie was really fun to watch. It was kind of reminescent of D4DJ First Mix. The art style along with the music reminded me of it. I also think that it's fascinating because Pole dancing isn't what you would expect from a sports anime. The outfits worn during the performance along with the visual effects on stage during the songs made it really entertaining for me as well.  There are no lewd scenes, and the language is clean as well. I would highly recommend watching it.

Garden of Remembrance

A girl wakes up day after day doing the same routine. She wakes up, rolls around, makes breakfast, and brushes her teeth. slowly, she starts to add more things to her day like painting and playing guitar. After going outside she meets a boy. Suddenly her life starts to change. She spends more time with him doing things like dancing, and going on dates.

Garden of Remembrance is a short movie. It was pretty relaxing to watch and listen to. It was kind of interesting to watch at first, because I had no idea what was going on. It seemed like she was just waking up making breakfast and then going back to bed. However as this cycle repeated the breakfast was always different. This lead me to believe that it was her schedule day after day that it was showing. There's no fan service and no swearing. In fact, the characters don't say anything at all. I would suggest giving it a try if you want to listen to some soft music and look at Japanese animation.   

I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability Season 2

After the battle with the Demon Lord Guisarme, Galilea is appointed to be the new Lord of Lordost Island. Hoping that they don't have a repeat of the incident with Lordost being overrun by demons, the assassins guild wonders what they could use to prevent it. Grim, as a demon himself, suggests that they learn Divine Sorcery. However, in order to learn it they will have to join the church and work there until they do enough to be acknowledged by the heavens. Will Lloyd be able to find a way to learn divine sorcery and protect his friends?

I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability Season 2 was a lot more fun to watch than I imagined it would be. While I do love a good fantasy story, there is a lot of conflicting reviews about this anime online. But it was well worth the watch. The anime is clean except for a scene in the very last episode where all the girls and Lloyd go to a hot spring together. I would definitely suggest giving it a try.  

COLORs

Colors is a music video that gives imagery similar to what you would see in a slice of life anime. It shows a girl with black hair doing things like going to school, to a festival, as well as to a cafe where she continuously runs into a girl with pink hair. I won't write about the plot because I believe this is a work of art where the meaning should be interpreted by every individual viewer. I thought the art style looked familiar which is when I learned that both the director and the sub art designer worked on bubble, which is probably my favorite anime movie. I would definitely suggest giving COLORs a try. It only takes about three minutes to watch on youtube. If you enjoy it I would also give bubble a try.

The World God Only Knows: 4 Girls and an Idol

Ellie, Chihiro, Ayumi, and Miyako start their own band. However, because of everyone's schedules playing together becomes difficult. After brainstorming the group decides to make a light music club for their school so they can play during breaks and after school. The teacher immediately rejects the idea and says he won't approve it unless everyone can score 100% on their next exam in his class. To ensure their success Ellie drags Keima to the classroom where the girls are so he can teach them. Though he feels uncomfortable because they are all girls he conquered in the past he still teaches. Just as he starts Kanon Nakagawa comes into the room who Keima also conquered in the past. However, Keima only promised that he would help for an hour, and rather than spend that time studying the girls spent it doing other things. Will they be able to achieve their dream of becoming a great band?

This was another really good episode. The story was easy to watch and understand. The music at the end was also nice. All of the characters dress modestly. The language is completely clean as well. If you have watched the first two seasons, I would recommend watching this as well. It's not necessary for the overall story, but it is interesting.

Magical☆Star Kanon 100%

Right before Kanon is about to haver her auditions for her new little sister a Loose Soul enters the building. When Elsie arrives she finds that Kanon has been turned into a child. While Elsie understands the situation, the staff believe that she is there to audition and are instantly convinced that she is the perfect sister for Kanon. The situation becomes even more complicated when the loose soul appears as the adult Kanon to judge the competition. Will Kanon be able to help convince everyone that she is the genuine Kanon, as well as help Elsie catch the loose soul?

This OVA was actually pretty good. I was really hoping that Elsie would become Kanon's sister to see if that would make Keima Kanon's Brother, but her being rejected made sense. There is a Shower scene but it is censored so you don't really see anything. There is also a slideshow at Kanon's concert of her in a swimsuit. Aside from that everybody dresses modestly. There is also no swearing in it either. While it is not essential to the plot of The World Only God Knows it was a fun side story. I would suggest it if you are interested.

Date A Live Season 2

While preparing for a class trip the location is suddenly changed with the travel agency saying they would pay for everything if the school allowed a photographer to go with them. That photographer is secretly DEM's best Wizard, and the enemy of Ratatoskr. After getting to the island while wandering on the beach Shido runs into Yuzuru and Kaguya Yamai who are fighting in the air surrounded by tornados. These two have done countless battles from eating contests to musical battles all to see who is better. After seeing Shido they decide to make him the judge of their next contest to see who is more attractive. Seeing this as an opportunity, Reine becomes their coach on how to seduce Shido as well as making preparations for them to appear as transfer students to Shido's class. There is only one catch, once a victor has been decided the loser will disappear. Will Shido find a way to save both of them?

The second season of Date A Live was really good. I think it does a good job of showing how different characters develop. There is a bit of fan service but not too much. There's a few beach episodes, a hot springs scene, as well as the parts where the spirits power is sealed and their spirit armor disappears leaving them exposed. There is a little bit of swearing but not much. As a side note I would watch it in english sub because depending on where you watch it the subtitles for the date choices don't appear if you watch it in the english dub.

-Zen- Grogu and Dust Bunnies

The Dust bunnies from Studio Ghibli meet Grogu from The Mandalorian. They are instantly curious about him but hide so that Grogu does not notice them. Once Grogu becomes aware of their presence they begin to play together, dancing around as they walk.

This is a video I would recommend, because the music is really relaxing. Their is no words spoken, but the video still has a enchanting feel which keeps your attention drawn to it. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for something that is short and calming. You can find it on Disney+ since it was a collaboration between Lucasfilm and Studio Ghibli.

The Anthem of the Heart

Jun Naruse grew up with an active imagination, as well as a talent for talking. She would often go see a castle on the mountain where she would dream of attending a ball. One day she saw her dad come out of it with another woman. Jun told her mom about what she saw. After figuring out that her father had cheated on her mother they got a divorce. both parents blamed it on Jun for talking so much. This lead to her not talking at all. Jun didn't say a word for years until one day when she was chosen to help out with a project for the school. While she may not have said things out loud, there were always words that she kept in her heart, which she longed for someone to hear. Watch as Jun finds the courage to say whats really in her heart, and how it affects the people around her.

The Anthem of the heart is a really good movie. It uses a lot of text so I would suggest watching it on something where the text is translated like prime videos. There is some swearing, but I think that the emotions that the movie make you feel make it totally worth it. Everybody dresses modestly, which I think is good. I would definitely suggest giving it a watch.

Idolls!

After three years of being Idols, the Idolls try to figure out why they can't get more than three fans to their concerts. Aina believes that they lack a sense of urgency. They decide to book Hoi Hoi Hall which has a max capacity of 100 in a year, but after hearing that they can get the price cut in half if they book ten days from now the decision is made without Consulting the other members. Will Idolls be able to make their dream of having a full venue possible in just ten days?

For a TV Short Idolls! Went above and beyond my expectations. The animation was absolutely beautiful, and the characters are people you want to succeed. I also laughed quite a bit due to the shows sense of humor. The Anime had no swearing and no inappropriate parts. I would definitely suggest this to anyone looking for a music anime. 

Ya Boy Kongming!

As he takes his dying breath Kongming wishes to be born in a world without war where he can live peacefully. The next thing he knows he wakes up on the streets of Shibuya, Japan on Halloween. Since It is halloween people believe that he is dressed in a Kongming costume rather than being the reincarnation of Kongming. After getting drunk Kongming meets a songstress named Eiko whose music touches his soul, and he offers to be her tactician as she reaches for her dream. With his knowledge of war Kongming helps Eiko rise higher than ever before in her journey to stardom.

Ya Boy Kongming! was a lot better than I was expecting. Something super cool is that Kongming explains what tactic he used, how it was used in the past, and how it can be used in the present. The Music is also good. There is a swear word or two in just about each episode. There is a shower scene which is censored and a hot springs scene but you only see the head and shoulders of Eiko and Nanami. 

Sekko Boys

After graduating from Art School Miki Ishimoto manages to land a job as the manager over a boys idol group known as Sekko Boys. While she is determined to do her best she soon finds that the boys aren't willing always willing to put in the work to make it big. Will Miki have the willpower to do what it takes to make Sekko Boys stars?

While this was not what I expected I thoroughly enjoyed this show. It is not your typical music anime, because there is only one performance, the rest is them talking on variety shows. The dialogue is absolutely hilarious in every episode though. There is some swearing, but it is not overbearing. Everyone dresses modestly. If you are looking for a comedy this is one to try.

Sing a Bit of Harmony

In a world that's run by Artificial Intelligence, Hoshino Laboratory has decided to make an AI that can live among the public without anyone noticing its a robot. However, Shion Ashimori their new robot doesn't exactly have the personality of your everyday teenager. Even though Shion is different she still manages to make friends at school, and heal relationships that have been weakened.

Sing a Bit of Harmony is a movie I would definitely suggest. There is no swearing and everybody dresses modestly throughout the movie. There are a lot of good messages that can be seen throughout the movie such as serving others even if they don't notice, doing what you can to make someone happy, and making friendships despite what others think of you.

D4DJ All Mix

After Lyrical Lily is asked to perform once a month as a service project to the city they decide to call the other five DJ groups. Together they perform not just alone, but also collaborate with one another. Watch as each band strives to progress using unique ways to both find their inspiration and to change the way they play as a group.

While this is techniqually a sequel which I don't do reviews for I felt like D4DJ All Mix needed one. In this season Happy Around isn't the main characters of the show. Each band gets time of their own while still making it feel balanced. I didn't like it at first but doing it this way helps you get to know each band especially Merm4aid, RONDO, and Lyrical Lily who were not in First Mix. There is no swearing throughout the season. There is a bath scene in the last episode but it is brief.

Lu Over the Wall

Kai Ashimoto lives in a small town known mainly for its fishing. There are rumors among the townsfolk that mermaids live nearby and should be feared. After playing music in his room Kai meets Lu a mermaid that has been drawn in by his music and wants to be everyone's friend. Can Kai and his friends help to make the town accept Lu so that everyone can be friends?

The language in the anime is completely clean. The dress stays modest as well. I would definitely suggest this one if you like anime about music and friendship. A lot of anime I wouldn't suggest to play around kids but I think that this one definitely is. It has the charm you see in Disney movies. However, there is a part where Lu bites a dog and it turns into a mermaid which could be scary.

D4DJ Double Mix

In this special episode to bring their band even further Rika of Merm4id asks Tsubaki of Rondo if they can do a joint concert at Rondo's venue ALTER-EGO. there is trouble because Tsubaki is afraid that teaming up with Merm4aid will ruin Rondo's image. However, they decide to go through with it and invite both Peaky P-Key and Happy Around to watch. 

The language was clean in this. However, Merm4id's dress is a bit revealing. There is also a part where after trying a new smoothie flavor it shows one of the girls flying through the sky naked. In my opinion it wasn't as good as the other D4DJ episodes. However, if you don't mind that it is still worth a watch. The concert that they perform at the end is fantastic just like the concerts in First Mix.

D4DJ Petit Mix

After getting an invitation to a legendary festival that only happens once every hundred years, the bands of D4DJ prepare themselves to be the best on stage. Watch as each band goes through hardships and use their friendship to lift each other up. Who will be the best when the U4fes finally comes?

This series of shorts is clean and super cute. I believe it only swears once. They also keep everything modest. I should mention that this is more of a side story than a continuation of the show. That's what I expected the first time and was disappointed, but watching it a second time knowing it is not a continuation made me enjoy it a lot more.
