Summer vacation starts and Chizuru wants to spend every minute of it with Kota. She even goes so far as to make sure that he doesn't sleep in. However, while Chizuru is thinking of things to do with Kota, her mom shows up in Kota's home claiming that Kota promised to go on a date with her long ago. She brings two Yukata's for both Kota and Chizuru to wear to watch fireworks. Meanwhile Tayura is trying his hardest to ask Akane to watch the fireworks with him but can't quite seem to find the words. Will everything work out in a way where everyone can be satisfied?
Kanokon: The Great Midsummer Carnival was definitely unique. Tayura trying to ask out Akane was super cringey to watch, but I think thats because It isn't that different from real life. there is a ton of fan service like a scene where Chizura undresses and tries to get Kota to eat noodles off of her body, a bath scene with Nozomu, as well as Nozomu being completely naked while she is lounging around her house. There is also a scene where Chizuru and Kota get soaked from the rain and have to undress so they don't catch a cold. While I think this is something that should be avoided, I have to give the anime points for originality. Overall, I wouldn't watch this unless you have watched the main Kanokon series and enjoyed it.
