Hell’s Paradise Season 2

Gabiru, Gantetsu, Nurugai, Yuzuriha, and Mei have decided to work with the Yamada Asaemon executioners to escape the island. Meanwhile The Shogunate have given up on the group of criminals that made it to the island. They decide to send in all the Iwagakure Ninja's they can find to Shinsenkyo along with four Yamada Asaemon Executioners. The Iwagakure, in exchange with working together with the Shogunate have been given permission to kill anyone they find on the island. Will Gabimaru and the other criminals be able to make it out alive?

Hell's Paradise Season 2 was absolutely crazy. After the first season I didn't think that there would be much left of the story, and in a sense I was right. A large portion of season 2 is just the characters getting into fights. The fights are cool, but without them, Season 2 probably would have only been about three or four episodes long. There are a lot of scenes where characters wear little to no clothing. This is mostly done by the Tensen and but you do see gantetsu and Yuzuriha shirtless. While the lewd scenes are important to the story, I still think they overdid it. If you don't like fighting or fan service, I would suggest skipping  this one. However, if you enjoyed Season 1, I would suggest giving it a watch.

The Holy Grail of Eris

Constance Grail is from a viscount family that is broke. In an attempt to have the families debts paid off, Constance is engaged to the son of a merchant. However, Constance sees him kissing another girl before a party. The Grail family motto is "Be you sincere" and Constance embodies it perfectly. This caused Pamela to be jealous and frame her for stealing something she didn't. Just as it seemed all hope was lost, the ghost of a woman named Scarlett Castiel appears and clears Connie of any suspicion and pins the blame on Pamela. When Constance wakes up the next morning, Scarlett tells her that in exchange for getting out of the situation she was in, Constance will spend her life getting revenge on all the people who killed her 10 years ago. Will someone so softhearted be able to fulfill a vengeful ghosts wishes?

The Holy Grail of Eris was a lot more entertaining than I had previously imagined. I don't often watch revenge anime, but I thorougly enjoyed this one. I enjoyed that there are so many pieces to the puzzle that they were somehow able to solve in 12 episodes. While it doesn't have any lewd scenes, it does have a lot of crime involved. I would definitely suggest giving it a try.

The Girl from the Other Side Part 2

A Girl wakes up all alone in the forest. Soon after she comes face to face with an outsider. Stunned by her beauty he decides to look after her. After talking to each other, he learns that her name is Shiva, and she calls him Teacher upon finding that he had no name. Knowing that there are many who would curse Shiva, he takes her to a house he often frequents that has long been abandoned. Together they read books, play hide and seek, and have tea together. While Outsiders are typically feared by Insiders neither one feels fear toward the other. However, how long will a peaceful life like that last?

The Girl From the Other Side is a movie length ova that was split into 3 episodes on Crunchyroll. While it has a similar feel to the ten minute silent episode, there is so much more to the story in this one. The world and the story are expanded a lot more. The Girl From the Other Side has the most beautiful music Ive heard in anime. Previously I thought that Komi Can't Communicate had the best background music, but this beats it by a long shot. There is no fan service, and the language is kept clean. If you have Crunchyroll I would definitely suggest giving it a try.

Dekin no Mogura: The Earthbound Mole

After a talk with their school mates, Yaeko Kirihara and Kuriaki Magi see a man get hit by a thick book that had dropped from a nearby building and broke his head open. Despite that the man claims that he doesn't need medical attention and runs off. They follow him to where he lives and he tells them that his name is Mogura and they should contact him if they see any ghosts. The next day both Yaeka and Kuriaki start seeing ghosts. Who is Mogura? What does he do? Where is he from? These types of questions are at the forefront of Kuriaki's mind, but he's afraid of what will happen if he asks them.

Dekin No Mogura: The Earthbound Mole was completely different from what I was imagining. I totally though this would be about a guy who could transform into a mole from the title. Anyway, the story was interesting and I had no trouble binging it. I don't watch paranormal type anime a lot, so its always fun when I stumble across one and enjoy it. There is no fan service and the language is kept clean. I would suggest giving it a try if you enjoy supernatural type anime.

TASOKARE HOTEL

A girl wakes up in a barren wasteland. Up ahead is a hotel with nothing surrounding it, save for a few rocky formations. She walks in and is greeted by a man with a flame for a head. He tells her that she has arrived at Tasokare Hotel. A place that exists between the living world and the afterlife. People stay here until they remember who they are and whether they are dead or alive. She is then shown to her room, by a man named Atori. He helps her find things in her room that allow her to remember who she is. Her name is Neko Tsukuhara. After seeing the hotel she decides to work there. Will she be able to find herself, while helping others do the same?

TASOKARE HOTEL is one of the most wild anime's I have ever watched. despite only taking place in a single location, the world building is amazing. I also thoroughly enjoyed watching different characters personal stories unfold. The anime is free of fan service. There is a beach episode, but no swimsuits. It does have adult topics like murder. Though I think it is totally worth the watch.

The Girl From the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún Part 1

This world is split into two realms. One where humans live peacably, and the other where monsters roam that have the ability to turn humans into monsters. On the other side a human girl lives with one of these monsters. She eats with him, plays with him, and reads with him. They coexist together living what appears to be a normal life, But the monster is very careful not to touch her, for fear of turning her into a monster as well.

The Girl from the other side was fun to watch. This was just the first OVA. It was cool to watch a episode of anime that didn't have any audio. I haven't experienced this since watching Zen Grogu and dust bunnies. I definitely would suggest this to everyone. It has a cute story and calming music. Naturally there is no swearing, and there is no fan service either.

SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary Season 2

After Jougoro Kobato and Yuki Osanai decide to start seeing other people, Jougaro starts dating Tokiko Nakamaru and Yuki starts dating Takahiko Urino. Takahiko decides to join the school newspaper and wishes that they could start writing about non school topics. When another member suggests that they open up a new column to write about a local fundraiser, Takahiko believes it's his chance to make a difference. So he starts writing about a series of arsons that have been happening in Kiba. While the newspaper does start to gain popularity, Jougoro suspects that there's more to the story than just what Takahiko is writing about and decides to investigate himself. Will everyone come out of things safely?

SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary Season 2 was a lot different than season 1 was. While the mysteries  are interesting in season 2, I really liked how Season 1 had a lot more mysteries to solve. Shoshimin Season 2 was pretty slow moving for me, though season 1 was like that as well. All of season 2 remained clean both visually and verbally. If you are a fan of mystery anime, I would suggest giving Shoshimin a try.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2

Now that Concubine Gyokuyou's daughter Lingli is a little older, she is allowed to go outside the Jade Pavilion. On one of her walks she comes across a stray cat. Not wanting the princess to get dirty, Maomao takes it away to the clinic to be cleaned. While taking care of an animal in the rear palace requires permission, the emperor allows it. Meanwhile Books start circulating in the rear palace. Originally they were handed out to each of the 100 concubines to educate them on ways to act. However, Jinshi later hands out regular novels to the servants in an attempt to make them want to learn to read and write. Xiaolan comes to Maomao with that same request.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 started out really good and was good for the majority of the season. However, in the last few episodes a lot of secrets were revealed. I don't know if that was what made it harder to finish or not though. The characters were just as enjoyable as they were in season 1 though. Everybody dresses modestly and the language is kept clean. If you enjoyed The Apothecary Diaries Season 1, I would suggest giving Season 2 a try.

Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic

When Ciel hears that there has rumors of a hospital raising the dead he asks Sebastian to investigate. They learn that there is a secret society behind it and they are meeting on a luxury cruise liner known as Campania. Coincidentally, it is the same ship that his Fiancée Lizzy had invited him to go on with her family. Ciel, Sebastian, and Snake successfully get on and infiltrate the meeting. However, what happens next was unexpected to everyone. The technology used doesn't bring corpses back to life, but instead turns them into zombies. Pretty soon the entire cruise ship is overrun with zombies. Will Everyone be able to make it out alive?

I wasn't quite sure if Black Butler: Book of Murder was necessary to watch, But Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic made it clear that it is. The reason I was led to believe this is because it is the only season of black butler you can't find on Crunchyroll. Something that I realized as I was watching the movie was that the characters acted overly surprised when they find out a secret. However, this same secret was revealed in the 2nd cour of season 1. It was then that I remembered that the 2nd half of season 1 and all of season 2 were not cannon. I kind of wish I had known about the order before I started watching it. I was also a little disappointed that Finny, Mey-rin, and Baldroy are only a part of the movie for the first minute or so. Overall, the movie was good and should definitely be watched after Black Butler: Book of Murder.

Black Butler: Book of Murder (Season 3 Part 2)

When the queen hears about Ciel's latest mission to capture the kidnappers and save the children, she doesn't entirely believe Ciel's excuse for burning everyone alive. So as a test she sends her personal butlers and asks that Ciel host a party for a german man who will be coming to England. Ciel invites a number of guests including Arthur Conan Doyle. While the party seemed to be going normal at first things change when the guest of honor, Georg Von Siemon is murdered in a locked room. Slowly more and more of the guests start to die. Will Ciel and Arthur Conan Doyle be able to solve the mystery before everyone is dead?

Black Butler: Book of Murder was pretty fun to watch. I never thought that I would see sir Arthur Conan Doyle in an Anime but it makes sense since the story's setting is in England. Everyone dresses modestly and there is no swearing. If you enjoy anime's that have a mystery element to it, I would definitely suggest giving Black Butler: Book of Murder a try.

Black Butler: Book of Circus (Season 3)

When the queen sends Ciel a letter notifying him about a string of kidnappings, she asks him to investigate. The first thing they notice is that every town that has been kidnapped from has been visited by the Noah's Arc Circus. So Sebastian and Ciel visit the circus, which seems just like any other circus at first glance. So rather than try and figure things out from outside they infiltrate the circus and become performers, to better understand what goes on behind the scenes.

Black Butler: Book of Circus was a better than the last season. I found out that Black Butler Season 2 can actually be skipped since it was never actually part manga, nor was anything past the cooking competition in season 1. The season remains mostly clean. There is a scene where a lot of the guys are shirtless as they pour water on themselves. There is also a scene where you see Sebastian put his arms around a girl to get information out of her. While you don't see anything inappropriate it's heavily implied that they were being far more intimate than one would usually be with an acquaintance. If you enjoyed the previous seasons I would give Book of Circus a try as well.

Black Butler Season 2

One stormy day a man walks into the home of Alois Trancy. He carries a large suitcase and is treated like any visitor to a noble's estate. However, this man is less than satisfied with the service. He decides to look around where he finds an uncommon brand of Tea in the basement. It is there that Alois Trancy learns that the man is Sebastian Michaelis, the demon contracted to Ciel Phantomhive. In the commotion the suitcase opens, and inside is the body of Ciel Phantomhive.

Black Butler Season 2 was not as great as Season 1. Alois Trancy was annoying for the majority of the season. While the ending was unsatisfying to me, the decision makes sense if they wanted to continue the story. The season is clean visually, but there is a lot of scenes where people are mistreated. Alois Trancy is what you might call a scumbag. If you liked the first season of Black Butler feel free to give the second season a try.

Black Butler

Ciel Phantomhive is a noble in England commonly known as "The Queen's Guard Dog." After His parents were burned in a fire he made a contract with a Demon. That Demon became Ciel's Butler, Sebastian Michaelis. Now Ciel Seeks revenge on those who wronged him and he'll use any means necessary to achieve his goals.

Black Butler was a good anime. The characters were all lovable, but my favorite has to be Mey-rin. While the season is mostly filler episodes, none of them felt out of place. I read the first volume of the manga to see if I would be interested or not, and the anime did not disappoint. The characters all dress modestly and the anime is clean. If you like mystery anime with supernatural elements I would suggest giving it a try.

Hell’s Paradise

Gabimaru the Hollow is an Assassin for the Iwagakure Clan. After breaking the rules and trying to leave his village he is set to be executed. However, his executioner tells him that he has a choice to either die or go to an island and retrieve the elixir of life. If he accomplishes this he will receive a pardon from the Shogunate. Unfortunately, no one has returned alive from the island, except a single man who was consumed by flowers. Will Gabimaru be able to make it back alive?

Hell's Paradise was a lot weirder than I was expecting it to be. It has the feel of a death game anime, but it also feels different in a way. The anime was mostly clean though there were parts where you see the residents of the island undressed. Overall, it was interesting to watch. If you like Death Game type anime's I would suggest giving Hell's Paradise a try.

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Season 2

Nene, Kou, and Hanako are back! When Nene's friend Aoi shares a rumor about three guardians that can control time, she dismisses it as being too unrealistic. However, when she walks into her classroom everything has either rotted away or turned to dust. Even the plant that Nene brought that morning had turned into a full blown tree. It's almost as if someone had turned time forward. While most of the lunches had gone bad Nene's and Aoi's were perfectly fine. This leads Hanako-kun and Nene to believe that Aoi might secretly be a school wonder.

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2 started off really strong, but it became hard to keep watching after episode 6. I still think that this series is way better than some other anime's despite it being a little slow near the middle. The clock keepers arc was really good as well as the episode where Hanako, Nene, and Kou visit an otherworldly summer festival. I would definitely suggest giving it a watch if you haven't already.

Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective

Takao Ameku is the head of the Investigative Pathology Division at Tenikai Hospital. She goes around solving mysteries that are caused by unknown medical problems. She is helped by her assistant Yu Takanashi who she refers to as Kotori. However, due to her inability to read the room and solve everything using logic she is often disliked by members of the hospital staff. But that won't stop her from helping everyone she can, even if she has to be insensitive to do it.

Ameku M.D.: Doctor Detective is actually a really fun anime. I enjoyed that all the mysteries revolved around medical illnesses. It kind of felt like Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions if he was a doctor instead of a detective. If you enjoy other medical anime's such as Parallel World Pharmacy and Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp, I would suggest giving it a try.

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun

Nene Yashiro is always interested in hearing rumors. So when her friend Aoi tells her about a ghost that is in the third floor bathroom of Kamome Academy she gets curious. Supposedly, Hanako of the bathroom will grant any wish to the person who summons them, so long as they pay a price. Feeling depressed about her lack of success with her previous crush's she decides to give it a try. Nene is able to summon Hanako and he agrees to grant her wish, however, his methods to make it come true are much more ordinary than she expected.

Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun was a lot of fun to watch. It would be a great anime for someone who is just starting to watch anime. I love the mix of mystery and supernatural elements it has. The characters and storyline is great. It also has no fan service and no swearing. While it might not be for everyone, I think it is definitely worth watching.

Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions Season 2

Isshiki Totomaru gets put on a case when he finds a man who was impaled on a statue. Ron and Isshiki learn that the man was part of a group of hackers who's cryptocurrency scheme had failed recently. On the body of the dead hacker they find a message that says 010:00. Ron deduces that the entire hacking group is going to be killed and 10:00 is the time of the next murder. Isshiki runs to locations that bear a resemblance to a 0. But right as he finds the next hacking group member steam rises up from the ground. Once the steam cleared, the criminal was found dead with an arrow through his chest. The third and last member of the group stood nearby panicking as he feared he would be next. To get to the bottom of things, as well as to keep the criminal alive, Isshiki sticks with the last criminal. Not long after the criminal gets a phone call telling him to meet at a certain building nearby. Will Isshiki and Ron be able to save the criminal or will he die like the others?

Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions Season 2 was even better than the first season. You get to learn more about The House of Moriarty and the connection Ron has with them that was hinted at in Season 1. I also loved the different cases that were shown in this season. The Beachside murder was probably my favorite though. There is a bath scene in this season, but like the hot springs scene in season 1 it is used to house a dead body. There are also two beach episodes. I would definitely suggest watching this season if you enjoyed the first season. It is also good for people who enjoy the mystery genre of anime.

Oshi no Ko Season 2

Akane, Kana, and Aqua have all been invited to participate in a stage play adaption of a popular manga known as Tokyo Blade. Meanwhile Ruby and Mem-cho do what they can to earn an income without having any concerts set up. While the actors have all been doing their best to bring the manga characters to life,  Akane feels like her character has been given a completely different personality than the one she envisioned while reading the manga. After a few days of rehearsing the author of the manga comes to see it acted out and tells the staff that she want the entire script rewritten, With only 20 days left until the play is brought to the public, will the staff be able to accommodate this request?

Oshi no Ko Season 2 was really enjoyable for the majority of the season. The appeal of Oshi no Ko for me is its focus on the entertainment industry and the different types of occupations one could have. You also see Aqua start to accept himself which I was really happy with. However, at the very end, the anime suddenly turns super dark. I really enjoyed Ruby as a character, but her change in attitude and demeanor after being made aware of what happened after she died in her past life was disappointing to me. It was as if Aqua and her had simply switched places. Though its not surprising for someone to change after learning that someone they loved died. You could say the outcome should have been expected, but it still surprised me. Despite my disappointment with the ending I still love it enough that I'll watch season 3 when it comes out. There was a hot springs scene in the last episode but its censored with mysterious fog that comes out of nowhere. Anyway, if you liked season 1, I would definitely give this season a shot.

The Detective Is Already Dead

Kimihiko Kimizuka has always had a predisposition for running into trouble. He has stumbled into so many crime scenes that the police started to suspect him. So when one day he is asked to take a suspicious suitcase on board a plane he doesn't even question why. Once he gets on the plane and sits down a voice asks over the speaker if there happens to be a detective on board. The girl next to Kimihiko stands up and says that she is a detective. She then turns to Kimihiko and asks him to be her sidekick. Kimihiko decides to go along with her, even though he still had his questions regarding the situation. The girl says that kimihiko can call her by her code name, Siesta. As they walk away from all the passengers they learn that the plane has been hijacked by a mysterious man who uses the code name Bat. He tells Siesta and Kimihiko that he will let everyone go if they are able to guess the reason that he hijacked the plane. After talking about themselves Bat lets it slip that he has too much time on his hands. Siesta deduces that the reason he hijacked the plane is because he was bored. Bat admits that she guessed correctly but he still starts a fight. As kimihiko wonders what to do he rembers the case that he was asked to bring as a carry-on and throws it to Siesta who breaks it open and reveals a gun hidden inside. After the fight is over she tells kimihiko that it was no coincidence that they were on board together. She also admits that she was the one who arranged for him to bring the case onboard. After that Siesta asks for him to continue helping her. And thus begins their three year adventure together.

The Detective is Already Dead was more interesting than I thought it would be. While things don't happen in chronological order you still get an idea of what happened in the past with flashbacks. The majority of the season stays clean. There is a short shower scene in the last episode though. Overall, it wasn't my favorite mystery anime, but it was definitely worth the watch.

Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit (Season 4)

Aoi, Hinata, Kaede, Kokona, and Honaka are back for another season. This time Aoi is determined to reach the summit of Mount Fuji. But Befor...
