Ranma1/2 (2024) Season 2

Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo are back. This time Shampoo is more determined than ever to make Ranma her own. She even brings her grandma who is a skilled master of martial arts to help her get into a relationship with Ranma. Together Shampoo and her grandma start a cat cafe where Ranma works, in hopes of curing the affects of his curse.

Ranma 1/2 Season 2 was just as good as season 1. It had a unique feel you don't get from modern romance animes. Not only is the art style unique, but the character names, and overall premise feel new. While I'm not a huge fan of Tsundere's, Ranma 1/2 Season 2 has enough unique elements to counteract that for me. While there is recognizable tropes like Harems and gender bending, you can't help but love it. There is quite a bit of fan service throughout it, just like season 1. There are bath scenes, hot spring scenes, and just random moments of Ranma transforming into a girl. I would definitely suggest it if you are looking for an anime that has a good balance of action and romance.

Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Oota

Oota is constantly confused when he is around Kashiwada, because she always remains expressionless. However, Kashiwada can always tell what Oota is thinking because his face gives it away. So Oota makes it his job to try and get a reaction out of Kashiwada by playing harmless pranks on her. With the help of his friends Tadoko and Sata, Kashiwada and Oota slowly grow closer to one another.

I really enjoyed Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Oota. However, I can understand why some people wouldn't. Oota is far from the most charming main character you'll see in anime. His personality irked me at the beginning of the first episode. But the romantic moments between Kashiwada and Oota made me grow to love the characters and the show more and more with each episode. Kashiwada kind of remind me of Reina Aharen from Aharen-san wa Hakarenai. She helps give the show a calming effect. While there is a beach episode and a pool scene, the anime remains clean and wholesome. I would definitely suggest giving it a try if you like Romance anime.

To LOVE-Ru Darkness 2 OVA

One night, right as Rito Yuuki is about to fall asleep, Nemesis appears in his room. She tells him that she has been spending time in the library recently and she is interested in ghost stories. So she came to have him tell her a ghost story. Momo then pops out of the closet and says that she will tell a ghost story. So she starts to tell one that she heard as a child from Zastin. The story is about a man who's spacecraft malfunctioned and stranded him on a strange planet. He then walks around hoping to find food and shelter somewhere in this planet that appears to be devoid of people, with only trees and plants as far as the eye can see. He then stumbles upon a mansion. When he knocks on the door, he is greeted by an old hag. Nemesis then interrupts saying that it should be a young woman who greets him. Momo says that that's just how the story is and continues talking about how after the man had gone to bed he wakes up and standing over him is the old hag.

To Love Ru Darkness 2 OVA was pretty fun. I never thought that I would see a episode with a scary story in it. The other episodes are similar to your average To Love Ru episodes. Lala creates an invention, the invention malfunctions, and Rito is caught in some kind of trouble. The episodes have a lot of fan service in them. Hot Springs scenes, panty shots, and much much more. If you enjoy To Love Ru, I would give these OVA's a shot.

To Love Ru Darkness (Season 3)

It all started out like any other day. Rito woke up to find Momo in his bed. After getting pushed out by Nana he prepares for school and walks there with Lala. He sees his friend Yui Kotegawa holding a pile of books and decides to help her with it. However, as he climbs up the stairs to take them to the classroom he is pushed down by Celine, a mutant flower baby. He falls face first into Yui's panty's and is criticized by Nana who is now in the uniform of Sainen High School along with Momo. Both have decided to transfer to the school after getting bored by staying home all day. Meanwhile Rito struggles with having feelings for  both Lala and Haruna because he knows he can only marry one. Momo proposes that Rito should make a harem. If he marries Lala he'll be king of the universe and won't be bound by the Laws of Earth. But Rito fails to accept. While Momo Struggles with putting her plan into action a new threat pops up. It turns out that Yami's Sister is currently at Sainen High School as well and may have plans for Rito since Yami didn't finish him off.

To Love Ru Darkness was amazing. The animation was far more beautiful than the two previous seasons. In a previous review I said that Yami was my favorite character. This season changed my mind and I grew to like Momo a lot. If you are going to watch this season, make sure that you use headphones since the fan service is moved up a notch. I would say that its almost at the level of Testament of Sister New Devil. But if you don't like fan service, then it is better to stay away from it.

To LOVE Ru OVA

When Lala hears Saruyama talk about how he likes the way girls look physically, she asks her friends if that really matters to humans. Lala then makes an invention that should give her the ideal body to win Rito over. However, Rito accidently falls into it after getting hit by Golden Darkness and is transformed into a girl. Now Rito needs to find a way back before his friends find out about his new form.

To LOVE Ru OVA's were really fun to watch. They aren't all necessary to watch, but I would suggest giving episodes four and five a watch since new characters are introduced in those. The OVA's have less fan service than I expected. There just seemed to be a lot of panty shots which is kind of expected after seeing the first season of To Love Ru. its up to you whether you give it a try or not, but If you liked the first season of To Love Ru, I would suggest watching the OVA's.

I'm Living With a Otaku NEET Kunoichi?!

Tsukasa Atsumi appeared to be your ordinary Salaryman. And like any japanese salaryman he is almost hit by falling debris off a building as he was walking home. But just before he was about to be crushed a Kunoichi saved him. Shizuri Ideura told Tsukasa that what fell from the sky wasn't debris at all but an attack from a demon. Thanks to Tsukasa having samurai blood he draws demons towards him. Shizuri offered to continue to protect him, but in exchange he would have to let her live her ideal NEET life in his apartment when the demon's aren't attacking.

I'm Living With a Otaku NEET Kunoichi?! was actually better than I was expecting it to be. It was a typical slice of life anime with a NEET twist to it. The characters are all pretty fun to watch. There is a little bit of fan service such as bath scenes, and the characters wearing revealing outfits. It isn't excessive though. If you like slice of life anime I would suggest giving this one a try.

Rokudo's Bad Girls

Tousuke Rokudo has been bullied for as long as he can remember. His only wish is to have a happy school life with his friends Chief and Colonel. Unfortunately he goes to a school that's full of delinquents. One day while trying to figure out what to do about being bullied day after day Rokudo receives a package from his grandpa who has been dead for years. All thats in there is a message saying that Rokudo will soon be in danger as well as a scroll. He opens the scroll and a magic symbol appears on his forehead. This scroll has the power to make any bad girl instantly fall in love with him. With this the bullying lessens but still goes on. Finally Rokudo decides to take a stand against Haruya Iinuma who has been causing the most problems for him. While he continuously took a beating, Rokudo stood his ground and Haruya acknowledges his strength.

Rokudo's Bad Girls was a lot more fun than I was expecting. I haven't seen hardly any anime where the school has delinquents in it, so this was a really cool experience for me. I also like how even though Rokudo doesn't like to fight he still ends up becoming friends with delinquents. It kind of feels like he has a gang of his own. The majority of the anime is clean, however there is a fight scene in episode 11 where one of the bad girls gets into a revealing outfit and starts trying to crush Rokudo. Overall, I think that the anime was really good. It was the first harem anime I've seen where the protagonist doesn't actually want a harem. I would definitely suggest giving it a try.

After-school Hanako-kun Season 2

Nene has been having nightmares night after night and she asks Kou and Hanako what to do. Kou says that its probably common and suggests talking to other people about what nightmares they have. After talking to Nene's classmates they learn that most people have nightmares though they come in different forms. After all the information gathering Teru steps in and uses his exorcist powers to stop Nene's nightmares.

After-School Hanako-kun Season 2 was fun. I really liked the episode where Nene, Kou, and Hanako start their own cafe.  The last episode where Nene enters a Ghost Hotel was a pretty interesting idea. The majority of the characters who are associated with the supernatural side of the school show up in their own unique roll. If you watched the first season of After-School Hanako-kun and enjoyed it, I would definitely suggest watching Season 2 as well.

Ranma1/2 (2024)

The Tendo family who owns the Tendo Dojo consists of the Dad Soun Tendo and his three daughters Kasumi Tendo, Nabiki Tendo, and Akane Tendo. Word arrives from an old friend of Soun's that he and his son have been traveling the world to become the best fighters they can. without telling any of the kids Soun and his friend decided to have their children get engaged. Soun had never met Ranma though. So he is thoroughly surprised that rather than a boy and his dad approach the house, they are greeted by a girl being followed by a giant panda. They still allow them to stay at the house despite the confusion. Akane asks Ranma to fight her. When she is beaten she claims that she is happy that she was beaten by a girl, and that she never wants to lose to a guy. It isn't long after that she finds out Ranma's secret. How will things work out now?

I am always down for a gender bender anime, and Ranma1/2 did not disappoint me. It kind of reminded me of Ayakashi Triangle. I think the characters are fun to watch, and the concept of how people transform is pretty cool as well. There is quite a bit of fan service throughout it though. There are bath scenes, pool scenes, a hot spring scene, as well as many other scenes where you see Ranma shirtless both in his male form and his female form. If you don't mind some fan service and are a fan of action anime, Ranma1/2 might be for you.

TenPuru: No Way, Why Is It So Big… / You Mustn’t Touch That

Yuzuki wakes up to find that she and Akemitsu have switched bodies. Not only that but everyone else has as well. Thinking that Akemitsu is still in his own body Kurage gets on top of him. However, it is actually Kagura that possesses Kurage's body and she hopes Akemitsu getting caught with an underage girl will get him kicked out of the temple. Kagura soon finds out that its actually Yuzuki she is assaulting. Next Kurage finds that she has been switched with Mia. Now that she has an adult body, she takes this opportunity to strip down to her underwear and film herself doing different poses. After the other girls walk in on her they find that kiki has traded bodies with Nyagosuke, the temples cat. Even after everyone all gathered together they still cant find Yuzuki's body. Will Everything work out?

Tenpuru Special episodes were pretty interesting. I was hoping that it would show us how Akemitsu ends up with, but of course thats not the case. However, I always appreciate a gender bender anime. If you are one of the people who doesn't like fan service, I would skip this one. It is partially censored using cats to cover up the inappropriate parts. Though fan service and specials kind of go hand in hand. That's how it is with most anime's. While I didn't get what I wanted, which was a clear conclusion to the series, it was still interesting to watch.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War? Season 2

In hopes of furthering their relationship Ai Hayasaka sneaks into the Student Council Room and switches out the coffee that the president uses for decaffeinated coffee. This causes Shirogane to fall asleep, but rather than taking advantage of the situation, Kaguya freezes up. After that Chika Fujiwara comes in with a game she and the game club created and asks everyone to play. Reluctantly Kaguya, Shirogane, and Ishigami agree to play. However, many of the things that happen in the game reflect reality a little too well making everyone besides Fujiwara depressed.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2 is really good. A lot of interesting things happen like an election for a new student council, and the reveal of Ishigami's past which lets you know why he seems to be depressed all the time. The Season stays clean visually. However, there is some swearing throughout it. Overall, if you liked the first season I would definitely give Season 2 a try as well.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S (Season 2)

Tohru gets worked up when she learns that there is a new maid cafe claiming to have the best maids in the city. She claims that there isn't a better maid than her and rushes over to the restaurant to complain. Tohru comes back shortly saying that she actually got hired on the spot when she went to visit them. As someone who worked in the food service industry before she worked as a programmer, Kobayashi has her doubts that Tohru will actually be able to handle the job. So she visits the maid cafe along with Kanna in order to check up on Tohru to find that Tohru has actually been made the head chef and doesn't typically work as a waitress. Meanwhile a new dragon named Illulu appears and tries to destroy the city. Though thanks to Tohru using her wings to block her attacks the city is kept from being damaged. How will Kobayashi resolve their issues this time?

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Season 2 was really good. I really liked learning more about Tohru and the other Dragons past. I also was happy when Illulu was added to the group. I think out of all of the characters Illulu is probably the most relatable to me. While the majority of the season stays clean, there is a bath scene in episode 2. The language stays clean for the majority of the show as well. If you enjoyed Season 1 I would definitely suggest giving season 2 a try.

Interspecies Reviewers

Stunk and Zel are out adventuring when they hear a scream in the woods. It is there they find an angel that has broken his Halo. They learn that his name is Crimvael and he is unable to return to Heaven until his halo heals itself. So Stunk and Zel agree to protect him until the time comes for him to return. However, while Stunk and Zel might appear to be a well seasoned pair of adventurers their hobby and main source of income actually comes from visiting brothels and writing reviews on their experiences there. In fact Crim who has remained pure his whole life is taken to a cat girl brothel right after he arrives in the city. Together, an elf, a human, an angel, a beastman, and a halfling form the Interspecies Reviewers.

Interspecies Reviewers is exactly what it sounds like. There isn't really a story told, but the concept is different enough from other anime that that didn't matter to me. While it isn't the type of anime that I could easily binge, the question of what species you will learn about next kept me wanting to finish it. I will say that this is an uncensored anime, so if you decide to watch it be prepared for that. There is a quite a bit of swearing, and the humor is inappropriate as well. There were a few shower and bath scenes, but most of the ecchi aspect was the skimpy clothes that the girls wear. Overall, the anime is very clear about what its supposed to be, so you will know whether you should continue or not by the end of the first episode.

Kämpfer

Natsuru Senou was a regular boy until he received a stuffed tiger who comes alive. He then turns into a girl and is told that he is a Kämpfer. Kämpfer are always girls which is why he has changed genders. trying to figure it out Natsuru leaves for school, but is attacked by a girl with a gun. Natsuru is able to dodge her attacks but dives when he sees his friend Kaede Sakura about to be shot. Before she disappears he asks for her name which she shouts is Akane Mishima. Natsuru back in his guy form tries to forget about what happened when he hears he has been summoned. He soon learns that there is much more to the Kämpfer than he expected.

Kämpfer was an interesting anime for sure. I'll be honest having a  dense main character isn't typically annoying for me. its usually the girls that annoy me in those situations because they blame the main character for not understanding their feelings, but don't tell them that they have a crush, they just expect the guy to know. However, in Kämpfer Natsuru was super annoying because every girl told him clearly and concisely that they love him and he somehow still remained clueless. if he didn't believe it at first I could understand that, however, when you get told multiple times that a girl likes you, I think you should trust people a little more. Anyway there is some ecchi scenes throughout the anime. There are two shower scenes, a scene where you see everyone in swimsuits when they go to the pool, as well as a scene where the female Natsuru tries on a bunch of different outfits for the school festival, Some of which show more skin than necessary. There is also a lot of swearing throughout it. Anyway this is one I wouldn't necessarily suggest unless you like fighting anime's like Akikan. The funny thing is there is actually an Akikan reference in Kämpfer which I thought was super cool.

Bagel Girl

After a bad day at work, Bong Gi goes home, and wakes up the next morning as a beautiful girl. Confused as to why it happened he goes online for advice, but unfortunately nobody believes him. It isn't until he visits a clothing store that he meets one of the people he had talked to online and after seeing him in person decides to help Bong Gi. Lacking in both common sense and social skills, Bong Gi turns to Se Mi who he met at the clothing store for help. Now she makes it her job to help Bong Gi start a new life as Ah Reum.

To be honest this started out as a bad version of Onimai: I'm now your sister, but as the story progressed it turned into a murder mystery. While online sites may label this as an Ecchi all you really see is cleavage with the different outfits Ah Reum wears throughout the series. However, that may be a turn off for some. There isn't any swearing throughout the anime though. Overall, this is good if you have nothing else to watch, however some better alternatives would be Onimai if you are looking for a good slice of life gender bender, or Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden deductions if you are looking for a good mystery anime.

Heaven's Lost Property: Forte (Season 2)

Tomoki has his same dream where an angel appears to him. To try and figure out the significance of the dream, Nymph uses a machine that allows humans to go into other peoples dreams. However, every attempt she makes sends Tomoki, Sohara, Eishiro, and Mikako into the wrong persons dream. Finally when they do arrive in Tomoki's dream, it is not on a grassy plane like usual, but on a platform that seems completely different from anything they have seen before. Restricted by a time limit, the four are sent back to the present. That night Eishiro decides to look for answers, and goes to the tree where Ikaros first appeared. It is there that he sees another Angeloid fall from the sky, and she seems determined to kill Tomoki.

Heaven's Lost Property Season 2 seems a lot more focused on fan service than the first season was. It does continue to move the plot forward though. I think the thing I feel the most is sorry for Tomoki. While he may be a pervert he is bullied way too much in my opinion. The only ones who are respectful of him is Ikaros and Eishiro Sugata. Sonoha smacks him way too much, Astraea tends to rob him and tease him, while Mikako sees him as the equivalent of a toy. I think that made it a lot harder to watch. While Nymph can be mean at times, she is also really kind which probably makes her my favorite. While she may be an Angeloid, she's the one who seems the most real to me. Like the first season there are a lot of scenes of girls getting dressed, as well as girls in swimsuits. This includes dressing room scenes, pool scenes, as well as games held by the student council president where either the game is lewd or the reward for it is. Anyway, while it is hard to watch at times, characters like Ikaros and Nymph make it totally worth it in my opinion. If you liked the first season, I would say that the second season is worth giving a try.

Heaven's Lost Property

Ever since he was a child Tomoki Sakurai has had the same dream. A dream where he loves a girl, and the girl loves him back, but in the end she always disappears into the sky. Thinking that he has a problem Tomoki's childhood friend Sohara Mitsuki tells him to go to the hospital, when he rejects that idea she then suggests he see a student at school who spends his time studying the occult. Eishirou Sugata of the New World Club tells Tomoki and Sonohara about a black hole that has been circling over Japan recently. They then make plans to go see it in person, but only Tomoki shows up. When he gets right under it an Angeloid named Ikaros falls out of it having no memory of her life prior to meeting him, she makes Tomoki her master.

Heaven's Lost Property was an interesting and fun anime. I really liked how the character change throughout the season. I didn't originally like Nymph, because she started out real condescending, but as the season went on she became a lot kinder. Sonohara is the type of character who bothers me the most. Sonohara is like Kirie Kojima from Girls Bravo who while she has a crush on the main character always want to solve her problems by beating up the guy she likes. While Tomoki may be a pervert, he's not a bad person. There is a lot of fan service throughout the season. There are panty shots, a beach episode, a bath scene,  as well as other scenes like girls getting undressed in the school locker room. So if you want to avoid fan service this is definitely one you should avoid. But if you don't mind, then it is a really fun slice of life anime, and I would definitely suggest it.

The World God Only Knows: Goddesses (Season 3)

Keima learns that Diana isn't the only Goddess mixed in with the loose souls. Diana has five sisters and all of them reside within girls he previously conquered. Shortly after, Kanon shows up at school and confesses to Keima claiming that she remembers everything from their time together and her feelings haven't changed. She is then stabbed by a member of vintage who are a group of demons trying to revert hell back to when it was in a state of chaos. In order to save Kanon, Keima starts looking for the other goddesses. But will he be able to save her when she only has a week to live?

The World God Only Knows Season 3 was better than I was expecting. It tied in both the previous seasons as well as the three OVA's. I really enjoyed seeing characters I had basically forgot about like Shiori be brought up again. The season was pretty clean except for a bath scene with Haqua, and a shower scene with Ayumi. The language was also clean, which is always a plus. I Would definitely suggest this if you enjoyed the other seasons and the OVA's.

Ayakashi Triangle

Matsuri Kazamaki has been an Exorcist Ninja ever since he started middle school. But even now at the start of high school he still has trouble. Matsuri wanted to use these skills to protect his friend Suzu Kanade who attracts ayakashi with her incredible amount of power. After meeting a cat Ayakashi named Shirogane Matsuri believes that he should get rid of it, thinking that Shirogane has little power. Suzu says because its harmless she'll take it somewhere safe. It isn't till he gets home that Matsuri finds out Shirogane holds the position of "King of Ayakashi" and does not have the power to defeat him. So his Grandpa gives him a scroll that has the power to seal Shirogane instead. Matsuri rushes over to where Suzu and Shirogane are and unravels the scroll. But right before Shirogane's power is gone he casts a curse on Matsuri changing him into a girl. How will things change now that Matsuri's been cursed? Will Matsuri be able to change back?

In my opinion Ayakashi Triangle is the second best Gender Bender I have seen right after Onimai: I'm Now Your Sister. However, it does have an insane amount of fan service. Most of the fan service consists of panty shots and bath scenes. There is a scene where Suzu has a see through shirt due to it being wet as well. I actually really liked the way they did the censoring for this. Rather than your typical beams of light or mist it uses images of cats to do the censoring. There is almost no swearing which I was really happy about. I would definitely give it a try if you enjoy supernatural and action anime. Especially if you enjoyed anime like In/Spectre and Onimai.

Reign of the Seven Spellblades

Right before heading off to school at Kimberly Academy, Oliver Horn stops and watches a parade where a girl is about to be trampled by an ogre. It is there that Oliver, Nanao, Pete, Guy, and Michela come together to save her. After that display they become classmates and learn to experience school life, as well as unravel the mysteries of the labyrinth that is hidden beneath the school. Only 80% of the students live to see their graduation. Does Oliver and his friends have what it takes to survive?

Reign of the Seven Spellblades shares a lot of characteristics with Harry Potter. the main difference being that Reign of the Seven Spellblades uses swords as well as magic. I don't think that having similarities is a bad thing though. Its kind of like how MASHLE: Magic and Muscles was. There is some swearing. In the first episode you see Nanao bathing in the school fountain. In the second episode you see one of the teachers wearing something immodest. There is also a student who is a succubus that wears revealing outfits as well. Lastly Pete is able to change genders so you see him with a woman's chest twice. Besides that I thought it was a good series. I would definitely suggest it if you don't mind the fan service.

Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit (Season 4)

Aoi, Hinata, Kaede, Kokona, and Honaka are back for another season. This time Aoi is determined to reach the summit of Mount Fuji. But Befor...
