After all the help that Naofumi had provided for the kingdom, the queen decides to make him the lord over the town that Raphtalia grew up in before she was kidnapped. News spread quickly and the friends and acquaintances he had made on his journey wanted to help him. he uses the town to train people so they can get stronger. Though Rishia had joined him after being thrown out of the bow hero's party she still wasn't getting stronger. Raphtalia suggests that Rishia should become Naofumi's slave so they can share experience points. Shortly after the shield hero and his party are summoned to the castle, where they are notified that a monster called the Spirit Tortoise had awakened. Not only that, but it had already wiped out entire cities of people and was headed their way. Will Naofumi be able to stop it?
The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 was way better than season 1. The number one thing that made it awesome was that the other heroes were given basically no screen time, so there were no annoying characters. It also wasn't incredibly long like season 1 was. There were a few moments that kind of reminded me of Code Geass. After watching season 1 I thought The Rising of the Shield Hero was a show that made you suffer alongside the main character, but I'm glad Season 2 was different. Season 2 stays clean visually, but there is some swearing here and there. Overall, I liked it and would suggest it if you can manage to survive the torture chamber that Season 1 is.
