HELL MODE: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World with Garbage Balancing

A 35-year-old Japanese gamer is unsatisfied with how easy games have become in recent years, so he searches for the hardest game he can find. He comes across a website that allows him to customize the settings and chooses the Summoner class, which is considered the most powerful class, on the game's highest difficulty setting: Hell Mode. Before starting, the game warns him that he will need to earn 100 times more experience points than someone playing on Normal Mode to level up. After accepting the challenge, he is reincarnated in another world as a baby named Allen.

He is born into a family of serfs who primarily work as farmers and hunters. Although he is unable to speak as a baby, he is capable of forming clear thoughts. Allen spends as much time as possible trying to summon monsters. However, it isn't until he reaches the age of one that he finally succeeds in summoning his first monster. Despite having imagined powerful creatures, his first summon turns out to be nothing more than a grasshopper. Will Allen have the perseverance to continue improving despite the incredibly high difficulty he has chosen for himself?

HELL MODE: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World with Garbage Balancing was really fun to watch. Although the anime felt unique for the most part, there were certain moments that reminded me of The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash. The most notable example was the appraisal ceremony that all kids have at the age of five. I was also reminded of My Gift Lvl 999 Unlimited Gacha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, I'm Out for Revenge! This was mainly because of how Allen looks toward the end of the season rather than any similarities in the events of the story. The characters all dress modestly, although there is a fair amount of swearing. If you enjoy isekai anime, I would definitely recommend giving this one a try.
