Tomo Aizawa has grown up with her friend Junichiro Kubota. However, as the daughter of a martial arts instructor she is stronger than any girl and can only compete with guys. She also talks and dresses like a boy. Until she started wearing skirts in high school Junichiro was under the impression that Tomo was a boy. So when Tomo confessed her feelings for him, he took it as a reaffirmation of their friendship, rather than a confession to date each other. Will Tomo be able to change Jun's view of her?
Tomo-chan Is a Girl! was actually a lot more enjoyable than I was expecting. I haven't seen a romance where the main character is a Tomboy, so this made the show interesting. Also the childhood friend route doesn't usually work out, but in this anime it did. There is a beach episode in this so you see the characters in swimsuits, but no fan service beyond that really happens. Overall, if you like the romance genre you should definitely give it a try.
