Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None

Lately the popularity of Enchanters has been through the roof in the adventuring industry. This was made famous by a girl named Selma Claudel. When the importance was made known, Orhun Dura became the Enchanter of his party and brought them all the way to level 94 of the dungeon. They became known as the Hero's Party for this act. Unfortunately Orhun's party didn't think that he was talented enough to be an enchanter, so they banished him and brought on a new enchanter. After that Orhun made a goal to defeat all 100 levels of the dungeon by himself. However, does he have what it takes?

Jack-of-All-Trades, Party of None feels similar to your generic banished from the hero's party trope anime. So if you've seen Beast Tamer, The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest, or I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths, you can imagine what to expect. I will say that it was still fun to watch, because I happen to enjoy fantasy anime that have the banished from the hero's party trope in it. There are a few bath scenes, but the characters bodies are completely whited out, so I don't really see this as an ecchi anime. I would definitely suggest it if you enjoy fantasy anime that focuses on dungeon delving and adventuring.

The Demon King's Daughter is Too Kind!!

Doux is the Daughter of Demon King Ahriman. Ahriman was previously focused on world domination, but his advances stopped after he started spending time with Doux. Unfortunately Doux does not possess a single evil desire, in fact she helps whoever she meets whether they be human, Demon, Magical beast, or Angels. Many people see the Demons as enemies. Will Doux be able to change relationships between races as she trains to become the next Demon King?

The Demon KIng's Daughter is Too Kind!! was actually a lot better than I was expecting. It had a similar feel to fluffy paradise and Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring. There is no swearing, and all the characters dress modestly. If you like relaxing fantasy anime with little to no fighting, I would suggest giving it a try.

Cosplay Complex

East Oizumi High School's Cosplay Club wants to enter a cosplay competition. However, they don't have enough members. So in order to advertise themselves, while also gaining some money for the club, they put on a cosplay competition at the school's Gymnasium. While they receive a new member, will they have what it takes to compete with the other school's Cosplay Clubs?

Cosplay Complex was a little hard to watch. I think they tried to fit in too much story when they only had three episodes to work with. It's possible that because it was made in the early 2000's that I don't like it. Since the anime is all about Cosplay, it goes with out saying that there is quite a bit of Ecchi content. There' a beach scene, a hot springs scene, a shower scene, and plenty of moments of girls undressing to get into their separate cosplay costumes. I would suggest skipping this one, unless you enjoy other anime from the same time period such as Hanaukyo Maid Team and Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan.

Weathering With You

Its been raining for months without ending in Tokyo. Hodaka Morishima who has just run away from home has trouble looking for a job, since he has no identification. Luckily he met a man on the boat to Tokyo who gave him his card. He stays there for awhile helping to clean the house and write articles about folktales he hears from different people. One day he learns about something called a sunshine girl who can control the weather. Not many people seem to believe the rumors. However, after saving a girl who is being taken into a shady establishment, he finds out she happens to be a real sunshine girl.

Weathering With You was not as great as I was expecting. I feel like Weathering With You is talked about like it's one of the greatest anime movies ever by people who have seen it. It is because of this that I had my expectations set too high. I will say that the ending had an incredible impact on me in the same way that Your Name did. But, there were parts throughout the movie that just felt slow to me.  I definitely think it's worth watching, especially if you enjoy other anime by Makoto Shinkai.

Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon

Kafka Hibino has always dreamed of being in the Japanese Anti-Kaiju Defense Force. But despite multiple tries, he always seemed to fail. It isn't until he meets Reno Ichikawa that he decides to give the test one last try. Thanks to the vice captain who oversaw the test, Kafka was able to make it into the force as a cadet. But unfortunately Kafka has a secret that would turn his life upside down. Just before Kafka takes the test to become an officer is attacked by a kaiju, which turns him into one of the most powerful kaiju in history. Will Kafka be able to keep his powers a secret while working to become a leader who fights the kaiju attacking japan?

Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon is basically a recap of Kaiju No. 8 Season 1. While a lot was cut out to make it into the length of a movie, they still included the important parts of the story. If you want to know about Kaiju no. 8 but don't want to spend almost five hours watching the first season, I would suggest giving the movie a try. While there is a bath scene it's of the guys, so it doesn't really feel like fan service to me. Everybody dresses modestly, which is a plus. Because they cut off a lot of the story, the fighting is more prominent. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Actually, I Am

Asahi Kuromine is a boy who is known for never keeping secrets. Everyone calls him a "Leaky Basket" because the truth flows right out of him.  For a long time he has had a crush on his classmate Youko Shiragami. When he finally gets the courage to confess his feelings to her, he learns that she's actually a vampire. Youko tells Asahi that if her secret gets out she would have to leave school. So Asahi promises to keep her secret and asks her to be friends.

I really enjoyed watching Actually, I Am. While they don't become a couple due to Asahi's slip of the tongue, it's a great school life anime. It has a similar feel to Rosario + Vampire with all the different monsters going to school together. The design of the devil though, reminded me of To Love Ru. I was half expecting her to claim to be from deviluke. While I said it reminded me of To Love Ru and Rosario + Vampire, it has almost no fan service at all. There is a bath scene and a pool scene though. Overall, I would definitely suggest giving it a watch.

When Will Ayumu Make His Move?

Ayumu Tanaka is in the Shogi club with his senpai Urushi Yaotome. He fell for her the first time he saw her. Ayumu then made a promise that he would confess his feelings when he is able to beat her in a game of Shogi. Unfortunately, Ayumu is terrible at Shogi. He studies using books that Urushi has recommended to him, but his progress is slow. Despite this internal promise he has no issues displaying his feelings outwardly. Will Ayumu ever get a chance to confess his love?

When Will Ayumu Make His Move? was actually a really good romance anime. I really enjoyed the laid back feeling it has. Despite them never actually becoming a couple, Ayumu and Urushi actually make a lot of romantic progress. I actually read some of the manga prior to watching it, so I knew what to expect. This was probably part of why I enjoyed it. The anime has almost no fan service in it. It does have a short bath scene at the end of the season though. I would still highly recommend it if you are looking for a new romance anime to watch.
